UMGriz75 said:It's an issue nationwide. This recent event just happens to be a good example. You take the side of a coach who you seem to claim can do no wrong. I am taking the side of the athletes, on something that ought to be straightforward, and for which people like you can only resort to ad hominem attacks rather than simply acknowledge: properly handled, we didn't need to have this ridiculous conversation. Let your player hate shine through.grzz said:I think that he can explain this as having his player's backs fairly easily. And before you jump all over this and say he is cutting kids in the first place. That happens at every college team in America every year.
Let your Stitt hate shine through.
See how that works?
I'm looking at the behavior of a petulant coach. It's not my opinion. It's out there for all to see. I can call you names all day, just as well as you can call me names. How about cut the attitude -- the "shit" -- and stick to actual issues.grzz said:Oh cut the shit 75. You are such a pathetic troll anymore. What the hell happened?
I never said anything that hated the players. It is amazing how many people have called you out on your clear anti-Stitt bias and yet you just ignore it.
Didn't say that. Please don't fabricate controversies. Aren't there enough legitimate ones?havgrizfan said:So, UM75, no smack intended here. You posted earlier that Stitt violated the terms of his contract. What is your next course of action?
Again, you carefully change the issue to suit your own agenda. Grow up. Throwing a fit at a press conference is embarrassing to the University. Not all of the public is impervious to what is before your eyes as you are.havgrizfan said:No, cutting players and not announcing those cuts is not a controversy or a violation.

I have the same reasoning here as I did for the treatment of Coach Ash; you just treat people better, and especially the players. My objections to the way Ash was treated had nothing to do with an anti-Stitt attitude, and neither does this. It is to the fact of a petulant sounding coach who could have avoided all of this, and refused to do so, and a coach who refused to protect his players from inevitable speculation and gossip.
I have used the word "pro-active." Time are changing, and fast. Get on the train or get off.
You do understand that not everyone wears maroon colored glasses? Stiit was the source of the problem. Notably, no one misquoted Bob Stitt. They couldn't.Grizz Man said:I watched the press conference, and it didn't occur to me to characterize it as a "fit" or "tantrum". I saw a coach who passionately cares about his players upset that the press leaked inaccurate information. The coach has a pulse.
Well, "proactive" is the job of the people ... with the job. You might have missed that little detail. You do know what the definition of "proactive" is, don't you? It is solving the problem before it starts, not pointing it out afterwards. This may be part of the problem you have understanding this. You don't even understand the problem.havgrizfan said:So again, I ask, what are you doing to be pro-active? Contact Haslem? Local media outlets, Engstrom, what?

CV Griz Fan said:Hey, where is getgrizzy? This thread is turning into the Krakauer Book thread right before our eyes. I have no opinion on Stitt's press conference other then maybe he looked and acted like he was kinda inexperienced. But give it to '75. He just calmly answers everyone's
challenges in his normal, well thought out, cool and collected way.......
havgrizfan said:No, cutting players and not announcing those cuts is not a controversy or a violation. But you did post that above. Or at least suggested it. So, I'm guessing much like not answering who you think should be the Griz' starter, you are not going to answer my question above either? Par for the course.

This is avoidance combined with studied ignorance. Had he issued the press release, there would have been no speculation, no inaccurate reporting and no controversy. That's the bottom line. Providing information and managing it properly is now the job of every coach, administrator, etc. Grow up and enter the modern age. Like it or not, that's the reality. Treat everyone right, and weeks like this don't happen.grizindabox said:UMGriz75 said:You do understand that not everyone wears maroon colored glasses? Stiit was the source of the problem. No, the media was the problem by reporting inaccurate information...once again biased...
