Haley's Playoff Projections

Mavman said:
Massey has a projected Div 1 wins list out. They project only 22 teams to have at least 7 div 1 wins.
yes alot can happen in next several weeks but interesting non the less .
Montana 7
ewu 10
weber 7
davis 6
msu 5
sac 5
isu 4
und 4
unc3
nau 5
according to the massey list und will start winning and isu will tank
I think this list is way off

So do I considering Eastern can only win at the most 9 division 1 games. And I see Weber finishing with at least 8 Div.1 wins.

Yeah does'nt Isu have 4 wins already? unc 3wins ? no way und wins 4!

1. Griz need to beat isu this weekend.
2. Griz need to beat the snot out of weber.

I think they'll do both.

1=yes
2=very tough to do, they have the formula to beat the Griz

ISU has 3 but only 2 of them are Div. I wins. (Nevada, Poly) (They beat Western Oregon in week 1) Looking at ISU's remaining schedy it's not unrealistic that they could only win two more div.1 games. Their schedule is not favorable with at least to me their only most likely win coming at home to Portland State.

ISU remaining games.
vs Montana
@ Sacramento State
vs Portland State
@ Montana State
vs UC Davis
@ Weber State

Their best chances are their two home games against PSU and Davis. But I can see Davis beating them. Leaving them with only 1 more win the rest of the way. and finishing with only 3 div.1 wins.

UNC on the other hand would have to win at least 2 of the next six to get to 3 div.1 wins. (Only div.1 win is vs Idaho State, beat College of Idaho week one)
@ North Dakota - (Possible win here, however UNC has been a terrible road team over the years)
vs Montana State - (Another possible win. MSU is probably their hardest remaining home game.)
vs Southern Utah - (A good chance for a win here. SUU has been hard to predict.)
@ Sacramento State - (I don't see UNC winning this one.)
@ Montana - (Yeah, no)
vs Cal Poly - (Best shot here for another div.1 win)

I don't think it's out of the realm of possibilities to see UNC win 4 of their last 6 and finish with 5 div.1 wins. But I also don't see it happening. I think UND, MSU, Sac, and UM will beat them. Leaving them with wins over SUU and Poly and 3 division 1 wins.

As for North Dakota I see them only winning two more games all year. And that's their home games against UNC and Sac. (Both could also easily be losses). Schedule does not favor them.
vs Northern Colorado
@ Montana
vs Sacramento State
@ Portland State
@ Southern Utah
vs Eastern Washington

Doesn't look good for them. I see at most two more wins. Possibly only 1 more win.

You guys are insane if you think a 7-4 griz team isn’t in the playoffs

This! Love it or hate it, a 7-4 Griz team is always in the playoffs. They would have been last year too at 7-4 until the Cats embarrassed us at home. The Griz bring in more $ for the NCAA with a home game than anyone else so they even get a home game at 7-4

I'll bet some wings with you that a 7 win sky team Griz is not in. Valpo and Savannah don't get it done this year.
Committee will look at large wins for at large. Our team wants to give up points for the ball. We like offense, period.

7-4 means 5-3 in conference. We're in. I'll take the bet.

And any dipstick that thinks it takes winning OUT to get in is f***[*] high. 9-2 gets us a f***[*] seed. 8=3 is a lock.

All correct

I think it’s pretty early to look at playoff projections there will be some upset in conference games. We just need to play one game at a time. I think they will take atleast 3 teams out of the Big Sky.

Including the F bombs at the appropriate places in the sentences. The info is correct as well...

Extremely unlikely. I am picking you to win this weekend although I think it will go down the wire. You won't beat Weber in Ogden. Not gonna happen. They are considerably better than you in every aspect of the game. Sorry.

The voices that matter consider the Big Sky Garbage this year. 2 teams tops from the conference this year. Tooom any good teams in other conferences. Gotta finish in the top two.

That is a very large assumption ONE game into the conference season. Very large, indeed.

It could change by years end but right now that seems to be where it is. Wouldn't be setting a precedent either. MVFC and Ohio Valley will get a ton of teams in, whether or not earned it is perceived the talent level is higher. The Big Sky is being perceived by most national media as a kind of afterthought this year.

East Coast bias is now East of the Rockies bias?

I think it's likely at 7-4 gets the griz in the playoffs but not a lock - just look at Pflugrad's first year.

8-3 would be automatic.

I hear ya, but that was before the expansion to 24 teams in playoffs. Missouri Valley got a team in at 6-5 just two years ago

I strongly disagree with the every aspect of the game comment. I watched the full MSU-Weber game and the Weber offense is no better than the Griz offense. Unfortunately, they appear to be better "right now" on defense and special teams. The best Giz hope is that our defense improves/continues to improve before the Weber game. Otherwise I think Weber wins a close one.

They are not considerably better on offense. In fact, I actually think the Griz are better. I believe the Griz D will continue to improve. I have zero faith the Griz special teams will improve...so, we'll see.

Might all come down to cat game again....that doesn't bode well. Road game and we already know Semore can't figure out how to contain a mobile QB, let alone one that is better at passing than last year by a ton (yes I have watched him play)

Streaky at best. He threw horribly vs WSU and he looked just as bad against Weber. Threw a whopping 34%. That's awful in flag football let alone D1

Thank you. I pride myself on that.

Has eraser head completed a pass all season?

Serious question.
