Guess the Attendance--Reno

Saw the end of cat/sac game---cats lost but had a chance.
I swear there were no more than maybe 400 there, where is this "tournament atmosphere" they speak of?

Yeah, but the puke of a conference has MSU the winner on their tourney web page as of 9:20 pm MST.

Uh, let me get back to you on that, need a refill.

Nobody wants it to fail. Its just that everybody can see that it will fail, except for Foolerton and Co. The Montana Class C tourney drew 10 times the best night you will ever see in Reno. Its because.... In Reno its just another lounge act. No one wants to hang out there for 5 days watching meaningless games in a dead zone. They would have averaged a lot more in Billings, as 1) UM and MSU fans would be there in numbers, 2) it would be a novelty and the biggest thing happening at the time, and 3) Montana is a basketball crazy state and lots of small town folks would come to see some D1 ball. Total failure if attendance was any kind of objective. And yes. I'd be in Vegas if we played in the WWC, cause its $49 each way on Allegiant and its Vegas.

I really it hope it's going to hit them in the face hard. Suffering through the 3 year contract, at least will bring a blessing in disguise of serious reform needed.

The BSC is claiming the attendance for the msu game was 1,723. Hahahahah!!!!

Didn't take long for the ass covering to begin. They must have counted the blue hairs sitting in front of every penny slot in town to come up with that figure.

These are just screenshots I took but I think it tells well enough. I mean really?! This is best for the conference? I guarantee there would be a better turnout in Bozeman.

There would be a better turnout if the championships were held in Alberton.
 Sadly, you might be right.

Yes, but every player gets a taste of an awesome "playoff experience" and their families might get to see them play. What more could anyone want?

Walter Wright looked pretty damn happy that his mom gets to see him play! :thumb:

From the beginning of the selection process, I thought Billings or Spokane provided the best options for the tournament. As others have stated, both are driving distance from the Cats and Griz, which would immediately boost attendance. Neither is difficult to travel into, and it would be the"only game in town" here in Billings.

yeah. This is working. Those early guesses must have been cumulative numbers? This funeral won't bring over a K for any game, including the men's chipper.

Yep, gonna look real freaking good on ESPN. God Fullerton is a fucking idiot.

Spokane: Driving distance for Griz, Cats, Weebs, ISU, Idaho, PSU & EWU.

Yep, makes no sense.

Keep in mind, when the tournament was in Missoula last year the attendance for the first games was right around 63; I still have pictures on my phone of -- or at least my twitter account. The attendance here really hasn't been much different. On Monday, the numbers were low. But by Tuesday evening they had grown by a good amount. I imagine by Thursday when fans can more easily justify taking two days off and the games mean a little more, the numbers will jump.
Aside from some really shaky internet connections and just poor in-game entertainment, the Big Sky has done a really good job of putting on a tournament for a conference with the smallest staff of any other Division I conference and in its first year of attempting this. Certainly there will be hiccups, but there are always are with the initial rollout of anything -- not even Apple gets the iPhone right on the first time, not even Google could solve social media. From first-hand experience, the Big Sky has done a solid job

I always thought that the Maverick Center in SLC would have been the best geographically, it's literally smack dab in the center of the conference
