14 total rebounds?? WOW! We are going to be out rebounded every night, but damn...14..ouch!
Dunn plays, in my estimation, the toughest spot on the floor and to be realistic he is a year or two away from being great, but damn, that kid impresses me! He has a ton of upside.
Gregory was great tonight and it was good to see him back at 100% I really think if he had not been banged up last game we would have won. I think there is a big drop off when he is not on the floor. Dunn and Deshields on the floor at the same time is ok, and Gfeller is a solid player, but right now I think we need to play Jordan as much as possible.
I did not really expect us to win tonight or even hang around as well as we did for that matter, so I have to say I thought tonight was overall a positive.

Just returned from Hec Ed (via the brewery). Griz really outplayed the dawgs for much of the game, but the two issues -- as they've been so far all year -- were foul shots and boards. I can live with getting out rebounded, but we've got to shore up the FTs.
Also, at one point in the second half, the Griz had been whistled for 16 fouls, the huskies but 3. Ouch. That's difficult to overcome.
Gregory was simply fantastic tonight, as was KDS. Wise struggled tonight, and so did KJ, who at times tried to do way too much and forced drives, passes and shots. But credit Romar. It was clear their plan was to be certain KJ didn't beat em.
Had many dawg fans stop us on the way out to talk about the Griz, clearly impressed. All in all, a disappointing loss in a game I honestly thought the Griz could win. But they want toe to toe with a pretty fair Pac 12 team on their floor, without getting a lick of help from the guys in the stripes. Can't feel too bad about that.

Getting out rebounded is as much of a problem as missing FT. Maybe it is not something that will be a major concern in league play, but I'm tired of watching the Griz get smacked in the NCAA tourney. Not being a competitive team on the boards leads to blow outs vs. teams like Syracuse and Wisc. Hopefully the situation sees improvement as the season goes on.
LOL, this season I think a bigger concern than getting whacked in the tournament is making the tournament.

Right on! This team has a long ways to go before it it will be a force in the conference IMO. I see them as finishing between 3rd to 6th in the conference IF they can't shore up rebounding and the inside game. Obviously Wayne doesn't think Martin will be the answer either based on his minutes and Kemp better learn how to defend and rebound before he makes much of an impression. Getting Bradshaw eligible seems to me to create a different problem at the guard position as the playing time will be distributed between another player now. Mario needs time and he will be fine. Here's hoping they start to jell as a team pretty soon because it is also affecting Jamar's game.

Oh, I couldn't agree more. But we KNEW this team wouldn't board it well. That hasn't been a surprise and it ain't gonna suddenly improve. But they simply have to do well what they should do well, and that includes FT shooting.

last night, cal beat cal irvine, handily. irvine earlier beat washington in seattle by 16. irvine has a 7'6" center from senegal, mamdou nidiaye. they also have two other seven-footers on the team, plus a 6'10" kid. that's quite an airport team.
also suggests washington is not in the upper echelons of the pac-12 this year. you can't always get what you want, and you can't always judge pre-season results.
