I'm wondering if some of you ever watch basketball... Shit happens. Games are close. Champions pull them out.

Were u at the game? watching on BSTV or listening to radio or just stat tracking? Because down the stretch that aussie hit some AMAZING shots...very difficult threes while guarded very well. It had nothing to do with us not guarding him, that kid was filling it up at the end of the game

Everett you are used to me now, as is Becker? Im a huge fan, and im not BV? Im just happy with the win and you know that? We just werent there tonight?? Tinks called the best game ive seen in a while, but the boys didnt perform all that well? Jamar looked sick, and maybe he was?? If he was it was a great effort? Cherry had a couple stupid fouls that took him away from another great game? Ward held strong, and Coleman and Keron were the players of the game! Gregory gets hurt again, and its his shooting shoulder?? 2-7 3pt% and 31-47 ft as a top five ft% team is flat out horrible?? 46% fg is ok, but credit SUU for being in our face and physical on fg% and 3pt%, but ft% wtf??? Everett and Becker, a win is a win, and they are all good, but me, Rouge, LA really want to know if Grizule scored the biggest victory of the night???

You might be right, but this game felt different for some reason....i agree we didnt shoot well...this game was so physical...we were at the line a ton and it still seemed the refs let alot of shit go...i dont know..but i guess its good to win when we dont play our best game....although others did step up and play well like you said

Becker it was very different, and because of that, im not blaming our fg% or 3pt% or our defense? Im really wondering why our free throw shooting was so poor? 47 attempts and we win by only 6 at home? I know its a good win, and the streak goes on! As a team, -Jamars 7-13 ft% we didnt do that bad? BRING ON THOSE LITTLE KITTIES!! Huh?

Weber took one at home by 7.....they are really fast...NAU did not play that well all year....Weber is most certainly the team to beat this year....going to get interesting.

Weber 83 NAU 70 much closer than we thought it was going to be. Jack's are improving.

I really wish Kareem could figure out his free throws. He goes in funks where it seems he is aming it or something, and when he releases his body language looks like he is trying to lean the ball in or something. I think he was 5-5 to start from the line today then went ice cold missing more than a few in the final minutes. I see his freethrow shooting as somehting that could really hurt us in a close game, just like the SDSU game. Untimley freethrow shooting seemed to be even a bigger problem for him last season (i guess any missed freethrow is untimely). Might just be a confidence issue, who knows but i hope he gets it worked out because tonight after he made his first 5, to me he appeared uncomfortable at the line. As for the others, it was bisnuess as usual at the line.

BSTV, perhaps I need to go watch again. Caught up in the moment, you know. Heh.

For the record, my sister spent a year in Australia and my folks have hosted a number of Australians in return. All fantastic people, of course.

6 games from the record. UM has 20 straight, but the 2 wins in the BSC tourney last year will not be counted if they are to break Weber's record of 24 straight

What a hard game to watch. Suu reminds me of the pistons from the early 90's. I thought The griz did a great job of keeping their composure and have to be sore as hell today. Someone in the big sky will get ejected playing against SUU this year, you can not get hacked all game long and not lose it just once. The aussie went nuts otherwise it would have been a double digit win.
As far as kareems ft's i agree that it might be mental, you could hear Tinkle yell "forget it" after he missed one in the first half.( I assume he was talking to kareem, looking at his body language at the stripe)
On to the cats!

Not that online is a great way to watch a game, but it appeared to me that the officiating was inconsistent, at best. Anyone who has played the game understands that when that occurs, it is almost impossible to get in any type of rhythm offensively. The other issue is when ticky tack fouls are called, and hard fouls are not, emotions take over, and the game turns into the prisoners versus the guards type of play. It appeared to me that Tinkle made sure none of his players overreacted and in the process risk getting ejected and missing the Griz-cat game on Saturday. Bottom line is they won when they were not at their best, a mark of a good team.

I think you will see a much better team on Saturday, although i wouldn't put it past a desperate coach Huse to try and play physical too. He doesn't match up very well on the perimeter with the Griz so they will more than likely try to pound it inside to take advantage of "Hands of Stone Hutchison" . I see the Griz being able to post up Jamaar when the Griz go small ball with Cherry and Gregory handling the rock in the backcourt. FTC.

Tinkle and team are not looking forward to a visit to Cedar City in a few weeks to face goon ball on SUU home court...

I guess if you can't coach or have a team to coach you play hack ball....sorry excuse for a D1 team

Strange officiating both ways?? Way to go bigsky refs?

I had never seen 2 of the refs before. 1 looked vaguely familiar, but I don't think those guys normally do Big Sky games. One of the newcomers to Dahlberg had a strong southern accent. Not sure where he/they came from, but they called the same number of fouls on SUU as most games, so I don't think the Griz have anything to complain about in the big picture of this game. The Griz were the beneficiaries of most border-line calls,IMO. Tinks was (as always) ranting and raving even though he was getting 4 out of 5 calls in his favor, while SUU coaches were pathetically silent all night. Their coach seemed completely clueless. I don't know anything about this guy, but if MY team was getting tagged for 30+ fouls every game, I might consider challenging a call occasionally. I don't think there was one rebuke all night. Even after 2 obvious (to me) cleanly blocked shots where his players vehemently reacted there was not one angry word from coach. He wasn't even standing. He was usually SITTING on the bench. I've never seen such apathy from any coach ever. He would occasionally calmly ask "what was that call?" This guy is NOT a legit D-1 coach. I don't care what he knows about the x's and o's about basketball. If you have zero intimidation presence or influence on the sidelines (or his chair), you can NOT be a successful D-1 coach anymore. Name one successful current D-1 coach that just sits there. It seemed to me that after a while, the refs realized they could call anything in the Griz favor and not receive any heat, so they usually favored the Griz. I wonder if this is what has happened in other recent games to SUU. The boisterous Griz fans and Tinks constant challenging of every call not in his favor clearly influenced future calls. This is a good thing. We don't have a wallflower for a coach and Tinks can take credit for this win personally.
