Cutting down the net from atop of an official blue and gold bobcat ladder. Oh the sweetness.

You wanna bad mouth Stitt, have at it. But quit bashing the players. They gave everything their coach asked for.

- Weber averages 10+ 3 pointers per game....they had 2 and 0 in the first half. Wow!
- they had 0 assists in the first half and I believe only 2 or 3 for whole game. Rorie had 3 in first 2 minutes
- that defense is awesome and even better is Decuire abikity to adjust to anything at any time
- rorie was smooth tonight and was 7-11 from the floor for 20
This is a deep team and a very unselfish team. I could see them winning a game or two in the dance if they can fight their way in. If they play like they did tonight they win the tourney easily.

CSU? I loved him hugging the guys as he went through. Always thought he was a heck of a coach.
On that note, the fans on the Weber Forum are ready to drop kick Rahe out of Ogden. They think they can do better. Careful what you wish for!GrizLA said:AZGrizFan said:mtgrizfankb said:Rumor has it that will be the last time Rahe is in Dahlberg as WSU coach and it looked like it as the game ended. Colorado State
That'd be because one of the officials, Rastatter, was the lead official. He's one of the best in the country, we were lucky to get him tonight. You can always tell when one of the big boys is officiating a game, always goes so much smoother... Teams aren't all in the double bonus 10 mins into the half.mtgrizrule said:Wow, what a terrific defensive performance, with added ball distribution. The GRIZ improved their ball movement by leaps and bounds this game. Best ball movement in a long time by the GRIZ, and the results speak for themselves. Offensively, the GRIZ were zoned in on executing offensively. That game could have been an easy 30 point victory, due to the GRIZ missing FT's down the stretch. Got to hit FT's at 80% in any post season tournament.
Ahmad Rorie played as complete of a game as a coach could ever ask for from a Point Guard. His passing was terrific. He shot the ball well, rebounded, and played great defense. He looked like the confident leader he can be. If he keeps playing like that, the GRIZ will be tough to beat in the conference tournament, and maybe win a game or 2 in the NCAA Tournament. I honestly feel, our back court of Rorie, Oguine, Falls, and Pridgett (I know he plays forward, but he handles the ball often and distributes like that of a guard can hang with most guard combinations in the nation. Quality contributions from our bigs was great too. The officials, for the most part let them play. Akoh and Krslovic are both proving to be solid and reliable. With Akoh drawing all the attention, Krslovic's offense has really picked up the past month. He arguably had his best game of his career in this game. His short jump hooks are pretty effective.
I touched on officials a little. Granted, their were a few questionable calls. That is expected for most games. Overall, I felt the officials did a solid job. For the most part, they let the teams play. They let the ticky tack stuff go. They called a charge on 1 flop, and called Weber State for a foul on a converted shot shortly thereafter. Other than those 2 calls, I felt the officials did as well as any officials we have seen this season. I hope the conference will encourage the officials to call games similar to how they did this game. At the very least, use much of this game as a foundation game for officiating.
Congrats to the GRIZ for an outright conference championship. Now, let's punch the ticket to the "Big Dance" Great job, boys.
