Griz vs PSU

Solid 1st half. Giving a few too many open 3s. That's an easy adjustment. Fortunately Thomas, Sawyer, Whitney are doing well. Henderson with a nice 6 to 7 minutes. He played terrific defense, drove and dished well. He's looking composed on the court. My God, that boy has QUICK hands. He's going to mature into on the ball nightmare as he gains strength. Very impressed by his improvement.

By the way, video doesn't do Henderson's quickness justice.
It's more impressive in person.

His press breaking isn't. But good chance in the 25th game of the season to get his feet wet.

…that can’t handle the press…
…raises its ugly head…
…what the actual…

… …

I know squat about basketball but Henderson sure seems to dribble a lot and more often than not gets himself in a bad spot

Glad for the win. Second half was rough. Did Riley say it was 10 Minutes without a FG in the second half? Crazy they still got to 80 points.

…good win…

Yep.

Still, it would have been less stressful if the Griz hadn't got frazzled and let the Vikes make that run to tie it up. But give the Griz credit for some crucial treys to pull back ahead. And, as the saying goes, any win ...

Good stuff from the Big Sky: NoColo lost (to EWU), so the Griz are now tied for second. Weber lost (to ISU), so they drop a game behind the Griz. The kitties lost (to Sac State), so they drop to three games behind the Griz. Overall, a good weekend!

At least the GRIZ got more experience in a close game down the stretch. We absolutely need to practice against that kind of defensive pressure.

As for Henderson, he's only a freshman.
He's got nice upside.
He'll learn to use his ball handling to set up scoring opportunities. I'm guessing he was the primary ball handler in high school. I really like the kid.
Then again, last season I liked Oke before he emerged into a solid player.

PG is the toughest position to grow into from HS to Div 1.
Henderson and Money will be the primary ball handlers next year. DeCuire is bringing along Henderson nicely.

I thought I was going to be late for work….ON MONDAY with all the fouls. PSU is scrappy and we alway have trouble with their press. Chase had good, important minutes tonight. Moody couldn’t hit schit tonight until his clutch 3’s late. Fun game, loud crowd. Students were MIA again
