Griz Vs. OSU Game Thread

Thank you for watching the "Qvale and Cherry" show. Imagine what this team can do if we get Selvig and Wood to find their games and consistency. Our record is what I expected. We need to figure out how to play big against everyone we play.
 
Come on give him a break maybe he missed the ucla game. His "do you beleive in miracles?" line I loved it.
He does a good job and being out of state i appreciate it.
As for the game, damn Will cherry you are the man you play like a senior.
Great crowd and hopefully many come away hungry for more.
 
Qvale's 27p, 18r, and 5b are National Player of the Week numbers! Great game Cherry 22p, 5s, and 4a, and a will to win games. 4378 att. not good for a game like this, but it is an improvement, and they seemed to be in the game. Wood and Selvig need to find out how to be consistant, and our free throws still suck, and zone D still hurts us. We shot a touch better from the outside tonight!
 
Safe to say, "BSC teams have to be worrying about Qvale and Cherry." They are both getting better. I have no doubt, both are 1st team BSC this year. The Agnes reference was "Agnus", very common name in Australia.

As for the young guy we hear on bigskytv. I like his exuberance. Unlike many, finally someone going out on the limb with me on Cherry. The kid is right Cherry's defense, quicks, and leadership can get him to the NBA. Again, if Cherry continues to improve, he has NBA potential.

I played plenty of ball in Nebraska against Eric Strickland. Will is on par with Strickland at the same stage of their careers. I also played some against Heinrich in Sioux City. Will is much better defensively than Kirk. Heinrich though much better offensively, and also a good leader.

Right on, other than the Zone killing us. We had less than a handful of zone breakdowns. The buckets they get were great passing for the most part, one steal attempt missed by Cherry, which he usually gets. One loose ball scramble they won, 2 missed zone assignments I recall. That is good defense. :thumb:
 
One last thing qvale keeping on dunking you are a big boy and folks can't stop you!!!! 4 dunks tonight??? Hell yeah.
 
Mtgrizrule I was talking about their zone taking us out of sink because of lack of outside shooting, which has hurt us this year. I would never dog our zone, our zone truely kicks ass and most teams cant counter it! I love our defense!

Right On! And also love Qvale dunking the ball rather than taking girly layups, and now that he has it figured out, he needs to teach it to Selvig!!!
 
Free throw shooting was better but still needs to get better. The stat that jumped out to me was Montana had 14 assists on 25 makes and OSU had 4 assists on 24 makes.
 
GREAT game griz. WOW cherry and Q were UNREAL tonight. love our defense and attitude. the atmosphere and attendance were better but not good enough. i was 1 of maybe 3 people in my imediate area openly cheering loudly. i tried to spread it, but most just clap when they are supposed to or everyone else does. a step in the right direction tho. lets go griz nation get to the rest of the home games this year. if this team didnt get you excited and win you over tonight, well, you either hate basketball or have no pulse.

Qvale looked like an NBA guy against boys. He had two really nifty double pump moves that Ive never seen before to go with the massive jams...great great game!
Cherry was inches away on several more steals all night long, shooting was great and at one point hit 4 FT's in a row that got the crowd going. His clear out and drive at the end was a thing of beauty. OSU knew it was coming and couldnt stop it.
It was a big and loud crowd that got the team pumped. Fun team and they made a lot more folks fans tonight.
