Griz vs. North Alabama Predictions

I'm going with

Montana by 13... one TD before the half to break the tie, two FGs late in the 4th.

27-14

Or, it could be a blowout and I get to spend the rest of the week ahead in dred for what the rest of the season has in store.

Great. We're gonna get rolled.

38-13 Griz if they take their foot off the gas. 52-13 if they decide to throttle them.

Seems like a big factor is getting pressure on the QB. With a healthy Sims..
una.....17
Montana.....28

Sims out....
una.....24
Montana.....28

Go Griz!

Maybe someone can explain to me why North Alabama is getting so much love around here? They went 7-3 last year against a mostly D-II schedule. They beat a Southern Utah team that went 1-7 in conference last year, so what? Their FCS opponents last year were mostly SWAC schools, which generally aren't competitive in FCS.

They just beat Western Illinois at home. So what? WIU went 5-6 last year and lost a ton of their play makers from last year's team. WIU was picked to finish 8th in the 10 team MVFC this year.

North Alabama's recruiting footprint and tradition at the D-II level can only take them so far. I'm always careful not to underestimate these unfamiliar opponents. North Alabama is going to have some athletes and I expect they'll put up a fight despite the adversity, but I just don't see why this should be anything but a blowout.

I think this years Griz team will protect its home field with a new attitude and they aren't going to be challenged by a subpar team in their home opener.

Griz 41
Lions 17

Griz win it going away. Cam Humphrey sees solid playing time in the 4th quarter.

Go Griz!

Go Griz!

It would be really great to have some games with a comfortable lead and be able to get backups and young guys some good playing time.

Luckily this is a game most people do not seem to be overlooking, so a closer game will not be unexpected. The Griz showed last week what they can do if they find their rhythm against an unknown opponent. I expect a slow start as we saw last week, but a game the Griz should pull away from at the end.

GRIZ - 34

North Alabama - 24

Griz offense blows the Lion’s doors off. Defense comes to play, forces 2 or more turnovers. Sneed continues to dominate, 375+ yards and 4 TDS. Team runs for 150 as well.

Griz-56
Lion-13

UM 41-17 UNA

I think they'll have trouble slowing down our offense. Hopefully we see a little more rotation on defense this week, and Cam can get some reps late in the game.

Got a bad feeling about this one BoB....griz 20 una 21. Hope I’m wrong but coach said at the presser that they realize they are playing a team that beat a team that beat us last year (not sure why he’s talking about last year) and una played the bison tougher then most last year way tougher then the bobcats who beat us last year on a last second fumble from the 1 yard line that we can’t speak of, so there’s that. I’m thinking this may be the closest game they play this season. If the run game doesn’t show up on Saturday griz will probably lose. :(
