Griz vs. NDSU on ESPN College Gameday ?

Hey Griz Fans Bison Fan with you on Gameday.
Wish it could have been the Griz and the Bison. A lot more story and history there.

However ESPN has a Big FBS Game its my understanding that has more national play on Sept.20th so, all you have to do is quick complaining and win some championships like you use to in the old days. Try win 3 in a row and going for 4 and Gameday might consider ya.

There is not a single big matchup on Sept. 20th. Here are what ESPN has to choose from:

Appalachian State @ Southern Miss
Troy @ #6 Georgia
Delaware State @ Temple
Rutgers @ Navy
Nichols State @ North Texas
Florida Atlanta @ Wyoming
Bethune-Cookman @ UCF
Northwestern State @ Louisiana Tech
Idaho @ Ohio
Murray State @ W. Michigan
Miami (FL) @ Nebraska
New Mexico @ New Mexico St
S. Utah @ Fresno St
LA-Lafayette @ Boise St

But if you look on September 13, there is a big matchup:

#6 Georgia @ #24 South Carolina

Yeah, please try to explain why in the world ESPN would choose to skip that big matchup to go to fargo to showcase NDSU destroying a nobody when they could have gone to fargo the following weekend to showcase two top-5 teams when there isn't any top FBS games that same weekend...

Could this be where they're going on the 20th?

No. 23 Clemson at No. 1 Florida State

Yeah that'll probably be the one they go to. I didn't see that matchup on my sportscenter app. My bad.

Honestly I think it had more to do with logistics than anything. Had they wanted to do the NDSU Montana game they would likely have been driving across the country twice in two weeks basically coast to coast. By doing the NDSU game this weekend they stop halfway and then the following weeks drive is again only half as far going from ND to the East Coast. Either way I still wish it would have been the NDSU /Montana game :(

Woah buddy..put the meth pipe down for a second.

I only smoke my meth out of a light bulb. It's more fragile, but just a little classier.

Was this from the Arena Bowl last year? Pretty cool. Reminds me of the old Chicago Bulls starting lineups.

That makes the inferno look good and that's not an easy thing to do.

WA Griz is light years ahead of anything in North Dakota, especially that dome.

There is nothing on this Earth that can make that god awful red turf look good.

Too bad you suck at football.

It's true. I saw marceagfan play in a pickup game once back in '86 during lunch recess. He tried to call "All Time Quarterback" in a 1st and 3rd/2nd and 4th league, a truly 3rd grade mistake. Once under the imaginary center, he didn't fare much better. He didn't establish the run, lined the team up exclusively in a 13-wide formation, called a Hail Mary every play, and went for it on every 4th down. To his credit, it was a 5-Alligator pass rush that day, and his team started six fourth graders at WR. Plus, a kid on our team already called that he was John Elway, so marceagfan had to be Danny White.

His throwoffs (after a rare score) were not much to write home about. We were playing tackle, due to the thick blanket of snow on the ground, until Mrs. McGill caught us and made us convert it to a touch game. marceagfan just had got some new Sorels for Christmas that hadn't broken in yet, so he was pretty much useless on defense after that. One star.

Side note: As Steve Largent, I had 5 catches for 53 yards and two scores that day. No big deal. It didn't get me laid or anything.

The production value is top shelf! It reminds me of either a Pastor Joel Osteen special or a Three Dog Night concert at the state fair in the 90's.

I'll take game day in Cheney any day...

Isn't that the truth? I cannot imagine tailgating on a college football saturday, and then saying, "Hey, let's all head into the gym so we don't miss kickoff." Say what you want about the collection of bleachers in Cheney and Bozeman, but at least game days in those places feel like college football.

That video of the Alerus Center sure makes it look small. Is it that small or is it an optical illusion because the people in the stands are so fat? Serious question.

That is a great question. Most scholars contend that stadiums look smaller when people stand. It makes sense when one thinks about it. A lot of people are under the impression that the Alerus Center looked small in that video because the fans were on their feet, pumped for the start of the UND game, and plentiful (there might have been rain, you know, crops and shit?). BUT, the trained eye notes that they were actually on their feet due to the fact that they aren't quite ready to "wedge in." Now, if you don't know what "wedge in" means, you haven't been in the C boarding group on a Southwest Airlines flight out of Omaha. The middle seats are pretty much taken by the "spill-under" of the two flankers.

Getting back to the case of the Alerus Center in the video, it's actually a pretty big building. Bigger than most college basketball arenas, for sure.

You are one funny motherfucker, dude.

oh you want to see alerus arena at und?

plenty of seats down front.

ESPN Gameday at NDSU does help sell FCS to the rest of the nation and that still should make Montana fans happy.
