Saw the NAU/USD game last week, USD defense held up pretty good 1st half. Filled gaps & had pressure. Don't know what happend @ half-time, but USD didn't look the same. That's when Bauman started getting his yards, through unchecked gaps & out of backfield passes. NAU QB Poe was rattled when pressure came, & made some mistakes. NAU defense kept them in the game. Pressure from the corners & some blitzes. I did notice though, NAU middle was mostly open throughout the game. If I were Offensive coordinator, I think I would be exposing that area quite a bit. The only really good secondary man was Lucky Dosier, For NAU. Without him a QB would have a field day! That said, I think if GRIZ front give JJ time, he will burn their secondary, maybe not all the time, But with the running combo, he'll keep them guessing.....
After watching their last game and looking back over the other two, I don't see any reason our boys couldn't pitch a shut out. Their offense is impotent having only scored 3 TDs. They appear to have a solid defense that has scored as many TDs as their O. I honestly don't see a way the good guys don't win this. I'm going to say Griz win 31-0.

Barring turn-overs that turn into points, which no one can predict, I think the Griz at least have a chance to pitch a shut-out. And, for no good reason, I'm thinking the guys get a pick-six after the D-Line stuffs the run game and the desperation passing starts. (Again, no reason whatsoever, just a feeling.)argrizfan said:

The Griz are one of the best teams in the nation, as I said pre-season, and as the polls are starting to get a clue.

I'm honestly worried that since we now have a field goal option, our offensive play-calling is going to become more conservative as the season rolls on. Has anyone else thought this? We need to keep playing for touchdowns like we've been doing (minus OPSU obviously). I think the main reason the offense has looked so sharp is they know that they need to get it done and not rely on a kicker
Probably won't factor in for this game, but it could be an issue down the road

I think the opposite. When you have the ability to get points from farther out, it can make you more aggressive. Having that safety net lets you open the playbook and it relieves pressure on the offense allowing for easier play. This is of course a two edged sword, but having the ability to still gain points opens more willingness to try for the big play.
