GRIZ vs Diesel Mechanics VoTech

So your big stud gets pushed by a 90 lb cheerleader and golden shower wants a congressional investigation. No wonder we kicked your assess in football and basketball this year. 😉 you shot 28 free throws and still got beat. ☺️

Hey, I'm just a fan of basketball. If you are enamored by the EAGS "big stud" then I'm not one to judge.

Huge win that puts us back into 1st with a pretty easy 3 game stretch coming up.

This.

It's a shame that after a big win like that, the predominant convo is all about how shitty the officiating was, rather than what a good win it was.

You realize that actually IS a vo-tech. Right?

Can someone please post a video of this incident with the cheerleader. I heard about it in the Facespace from some griz friends. So I came here to get the deets.

So you were the drunk shouting racist comments?

Awfully early in the evening to use the race card ain't it?

Not when it's all you've got evidently, Fire.

Mods, can we just ban this piece of shit golden shower. He adds nothing to the board, and now he's calling one of our better posters racist. Send him down the road like the GRIZ just sent the votechers packing.

Go ahead, ban me. I heard the remark on the SWX broadcast. I have never seen an athlete get assaulted by a cheerleader before. Quite pathetic, and Kim Aiken had every right to defend himself and knock the fatty on his ass. But he is a good guy and laughed at him. Of course assholes like you think that behavior is cute.

Look at this SAVAGE shove by a female cheerleader half Aikens size. STRAIGHT UP ASSAULT! She Heisman posed his ass. Somebody should get in touch with Hauck and see if she can be on the Football team!

There's a reason why there wasn't a technical called on the crowd when they went and reviewed the "shove." Might be the only good (Non) call all night.

This thread is the best, fellas! Keep it up!

  Aiken has given people plenty of razzing ammo for the next couple years. Owned by a featherweight with a pony tail.

Eastern is the best example I've seen of a team whose personality is a reflection of their head coach. Definitely not a good thing in this case

The officials had such little control of this game, I just wrote 80 percent of this game story about. And I'm not posting it until now because we didn't get out of the arena following post game until 10:30 because the game lasted so long and the ensuing cool down was so much longer.

I stand by this and many other tweets I made tonight.

These refs aren't bias. They are bad. The consortium was the worst thing that ever happened to the league. At least if there was Big Sky refs, they would know the league and the players. If a crew familiar with these teams would've worked this game, they would've known that Aiken and Pridgett have a fierce rivalry. They would've known Aiken is a loose cannon who is a really fine player unless he's not kept in control.

This game was not in control. More than the 56 fouls, it's the little things like not even picking up the F*** ball while it bounces along the baseline over the final 102 seconds, then when Aiken tries to touch it to getting the action going, calling a delay of game...twice. These guys tonight were a whole new level. Literally no control of the game for the last 30 minutes of action. Every key player in foul trouble, calling technicals on dunks by a freshman...

What great emotion and intensity and athleticism and talent...what a great show by the two coach, even if you hate Shantay Legans' antics...A battle of the two best teams in the Big Sky, a rematch of the last two title games...and all we can talk about is the refs. I need to go to bed.

As you wish.

Jesus, just how soft ARE you ewooooers?

Don't try to spin this away from the fact that there were drunk derogatory fans in the stands (where was the security?) and you have cheerleaders with anger issues. It's actually pretty amusing how pathetic a fan base can act.

Wait?! So you're saying a few college kids were DRUNK??!?!? Well, [*]f***!!! If that's true we should have a full and complete investigation!!!!

And a cheerleader pushes a player standing on her foot??!?!?! Holy SHIT!!!!!! Sanctions are coming.....

Good god you're a soft drama queen. No wonder no one on your board can stand you.

If I were the AD of UM I would worry that other BSC teams will not play at Adams Center until the university can clean up the behavior of the fans and cheerleaders. Also, you can easily hear that the comments were not from little pimple-faced college tennis players (like you). The derogatory comments were from mature, hairy, fat, drunk middle-aged bubbas.

This is hysterical! Please, tell us more!

Unfortunately, work kept me from attending the game. With that said, I rely on Riley's call of each game, I can't attend. Riley is absolutely brilliant in how he calls a game. He does call out officiating, but in a subtle low key way. After, DCH's dunk, with a T to follow, Riley said something like, "That is tough for any play to have something like that called on him." Just before that, Riley was subtly hinting how bad the officiating was. At some point, he commented, how EWU's coach was trying to get T'd up, yet the officials wouldn't appease him.

During the MSU game, Montana went up 14 or 15 points, it looked and sounded to me, that DeCuire was actually trying to get T'd up. Yet again, the refs didn't appease him either. How bad is officiating, when they even take coaching tactics out of the game? I learned there are times when coaches need to get T'd up in order to make a statement to their team, or fire them up, etc. Most officiating crews know this is part of coaching and respect that aspect of coaching. However, the BSC officials don't even allow for these kind of things by the coaches.

I cannot wait to watch the game on demand or replay. Great W, GRIZ!!!

To be fair I don't think anyone here is asserting bias, just astounded at the complete train wreck they called tonight. To ruin what could have been an epic contest is frustrating to watch as a fan, but as you point out they lost it completely. I hadn't really thought about your consortium take, it makes sense after that fiasco. It could have been nipped in the bud early by zebras familiar with the teams without fouling 10 guys out.

Colter talked about the basketball bouncing on the baseline. Can someone explain what he's talking about. I guess I don't follow what's supposed to happen and what did happen.

Aikens getting punked by the lady cheerleader made the play of the night and pretty well sums up the culture of ewooooo.

or

I love the attitude of the cheer squad when helping Sayeed who got slammed into the first row with Aikens standing over him.

This was probably already stated, but the lack of control by the officials led to the intensity and stress of the players and coaches! I know this is cliche, but these teams truly hate each other! It’s been that way for a long time, and the refs interference and trying to ultra-control the game from the beginning, just added to the intensity, and it actually seemed to make things worse! The refs job should be making sure the players are safe, and they totally missed the boat! The BSC needs to look at the video of some these games, and solve this problem! As the season goes on, and it becomes tournament time, it’s gonna get worse! It could lead to fights, and players might get hurt! If you don’t notice the refs during the game, or they don’t stand out, then they are doing their jobs!

Colter didn’t describe that particular well. Late in the game with ewoooo in desperation and full court press mode, after a made ewoooo basket the officials should have gone to collect the loose ball and hand it to the GRIZ inbounder. Not a big deal in the scope of that shit show officiating really.

Colter DID do a great job of outlining how MONTANA repeatedly kept its cool against all the crap ewoo was doing. Kudos to TDC and the kids.

I'm confused. I didn't watch the game last night, but in this thread there's repeated references to "refs needed to take control of this game and not let it get out of hand" and for some reason the inference is that they did NOT do that....but how else are they to do that, except by calling lots of fouls? What other mechanism do they have to "control" the game and the physicality?

If you get a chance to watch the game when the replay hits watch big sky, you should and all of this would make sense. Yes, the refs blew lots of whistles and called lots of fouls and yes, they let it get out of hand. The problem was what they called and what they didn't - against both teams. All sorts of ticky tack whistles away from the basket or away from the play. Tons of contact going for a layup or dunk? No call. You can't keep the game in hand when you call ticky tack fouls and let both teams basically hack a Shaq each other in they key all game without blowing the whistle.

Nice synopsis, MMF. I would go one step further, though. Because of how awful they were, because of the constant hand check calls 30 feet from the basket and away from the ball, because of the physicality they allowed when certainly a foul should have been called, it was painfully clear the officials had absolutely NO respect from the players or coaches. THAT his how you instantly lose control of a game; when the players don't respect the stripes, things will spiral.

Well, this one began to spiral early, and roughly 7 minutes in, the game looked like this:
