Mixed emotions about this game. Coastal did a good job on Beth-Cook, but then again, that's the MEAC. Does the Big South play good football? Just look at the recent champions out of, oh wait. But they have only been playing for what, 10 years and already made it to the playoffs for the second time. That is impressive.
On the other hand, as much as I have heard or read about other conferences considering the Big Sky to be overrated or just plain weak, I keep remembering Central Arkansas, and how they were going to devastate the Griz, or NIU that was going to show us they were tough even though they played in a dome. The results of those brags are quite evident, and just a pair of oh so many.
Let's face it, playing in Wa-Griz is tough for anybody. The cold will be a distraction, and the crowd may cause some false starts, but it is up to the team to execute. I have respect for CC and believe they wouldn't be coming to Missoula if they didn't deserve it. Now, let's all concentrate on Saturday and make sure they get everything they deserve.

have we recruited anybody from Big South, that area, where all the boys are recruited from. wonder if we did, how long it take for them to adjust?In the past, there have been several young men from Florida on the Griz team. None real recently though.griznation23 said:

My take on the game:
-Factors for CCU will be noise, cold weather, elevation change and traveling across the country. Anyone can say what they want, but 5 degrees is cold weather you're from SC or MT. We are just able to acclimate much easier than the southern boys. The elevation is not getting as much attention as it should. 3,000 foot elevation change will affect them, and the 5 degree temperature will exacerbate that more.
-Griz will also have to battle the elements. Like I said, 5 degrees is cold for anyone. But we are expecting it and have had all week to practice in it. But the ball will be just as cold and frozen for both teams and both teams will have to adjust to the weather conditions.
-Turnovers will be numerous... by both teams. We've seen our Griz fumble quite a bit this year. You think just because we live in the cold weather that we aren't even more susceptible than in September? Thankfully, CCU will also have a tough time hanging on to the ball. I would bet a combined 8+ turnovers, probably more.
-Wa-Griz is loud and hostile. Sadly, I bet we barely hit 20,000 fans in the stadium. Hell, UM is now selling tickets for $20 because there are so many available! I know people who can't hardly give them away because it's going to be too cold. But 20,000 freezing-ass fans is still something to be proud of. It will be loud and it will be a factor.
-They have the Griz favored by 5 or 6. I'd say factoring in the weather, elevation and noise, it should be 10 or better.
-Griz defense has stepped up their game as of late and will be the reason we win or lose. If we shut them down then the Griz offense will put up 200+ yds on the ground. I don't see Jordy having a big game through the air because of the "rock" that he'll have to throw, but he's just as dangerous with his feet.
-CCU will have a tough time adapting which will suit our slow-starting offense so we won't be playing from behind as much as we have against the better opponents this season. Griz defense will stop the run, watch the bubble screen and the deep ball won't even be an option for CCU. Jordy will find a few big opportunities through the air and the run game will put the game in our hands.
Griz have too much of an advantage going for them for this to be much of a game. I see the Griz winning 40-18 (because I love awesome scores like that).
