I have successfully helped others install their systems and tune in games. It has never been easier now that there are iPhone apps that can help you first be sure you have an obstructed view of the required satellite in the sky and then help point your dish. You used to have to mess with compasses and charts for magnetic correction for true south and a fair amount of guessing/trial and error Pretty much easy, peasy now. I'd be happy to help in any way possible.grizbymarriage said:Grisly Fan said:OP: "streaming via Internet won't work" yet posters point to a website...? There is a remarkable amount of "not reading" done here.
 Thanks for helping me out. I am going to call Dish today and ask them why it has to be blocked out on Altitude for those of us who can't get SWX. I am not expecting success, but it won't hurt to give it a try.
I still appreciate the "not reading" posters wanting to help -- it's the thought that counts! I think it's hard for people who are used to having "real" Internet to believe that many of us are still way behind . . . and, with Dishnet, you get a whopping 14GB allowance for the entire month, so it's not like you could do a lot of streaming even if worked well enough to make that possible.
Might try Grisly Fan's suggestion of an FTA satellite - we've got a few 15 year olds in the general area who are always looking for something electronic to tinker with!
You only get a 14GB allowance per month? That sucks!grizbymarriage said:Grisly Fan said:OP: "streaming via Internet won't work" yet posters point to a website...? There is a remarkable amount of "not reading" done here.

But, for those of us in Montana who don't live in those areas and who can't get SWX, we're out of luck. Nice. Thanks, UM and Cowles Montana Media for not thinking of us.

You've mentioned before that you have Dishnet gbm, do you get TV through Dish? With my Dish Network set-up I get the local channels out of Great Falls that carry the non-Root Griz games. Is that not an option for you?
