Griz v. NAU Game Thread

Griz roundball with Cherry et al hasn't seen this kind of excitement since...since the Rudy "Zip" Rhodes era... (Hmm, I'm seeing the young pups scratching their heads with a hearty WTF at that name from the archives )

Well, I remember Zip! He was the show! I also remember the Griz wearing striped shorts like the Globetrotters during his playing days here.
I'd wager most posters here don't know what a "Silvertip" is, either.

Zip was great but no one lit up the Field House like the great Michael Ray.

I watched the game replay on Bigsky TV. The 2nd half defense was phenomenal, and offense looked to have found it's rhythm again. Major kudos to Spencer Coleman for being aware enough to be peacemaker long enough to keep Cherry and Jamar from doing more. It looked to me, Cherry was a little to hot to hold back without Coleman stepping in. He did just enough until Wayne got on the court to help more.

I think Jamar would not have done much more, but Cherry was uncharacteristically bothered. That kid got under his skin, which is rare.
