Run blocking?????
Has not looked fantastic.

Griz offense today was almost exclusively run-pass option plays. If you watched what Indiana State did defensively, they went for the run on almost every single play fake. The read then indicates to throw the slant or to the back. That's exactly what happened today...and Bobby Hauck confirmed that in the post-game press conference.

Griz rushing average of 2.1 yards/carry has me concerned. Only 70 yards on 33 attempts doesn't bode well for late season play. The passing yards look great, but I would like to see that rushing average higher.

I don’t care if they rush for 0 if they continue to score 49.

Yeah Colter even explained why that was (rpo/taking what the defense gives you) but I guess some missed the memo.

And Brown had a higher completion percentage than Johnson… Both had horrible first series

Bergen had a higher % then Brown. What are you saying?

I'd start Bergen at QB next game? Just pointing out that Brown's game wasn't nearly as bad as many made it out to be despite his atrocious first series and the fumble (that may not have happened if someone had hung onto the ball on the previous play)

Guess I did miss that memo. It's a fair point, and I agree with AZ I don't really care how we score as long as we continue putting up points. Maybe I'm just still concerned from the Stitt era of not being able to really run the ball when absolutely necessary.

Hi Colter. Is there a link to the post-game presser now, or will there be one up soon ??

I think instead of bashing Brown, how about the oline that let the dline run through? How about the receivers that struggle to release and can't get out fast enough?

Was the 1st string lineman still in when brown came in? So much hate placed on Brown when it could be placed in other areas. I believe WR is our weakest position. Toss up between them and o line.

I'm worried about what's going to happen when we face a contender. Hopefully everything gets smoothed out. I have faith in this team, I definitely still think we can compete for a title but, if we want to win one, 3 things need improved. 1. Run Blocking 2. WR release and seperation(need toure to come show them how to juke ppl out) 3. The run, period. But that starts with better blocking.

Our defense is solid and will keep us in any game. Offense needs to step up. Looked really vanilla today. Other than the couple trick plays that is.

GA - looks like 1 & 3 are the same thing. You are worried, yet you have faith. You generate the best posts GA.

Thanks Colter. I guess the couple plays I thought of the Offensive Line didn't seem to get much of a push on what seemed like an intended run in the red zone. Admittedly, I wasn't able to watch the entire game, so maybe I was just being more cynical than necessary.

Beyond the WR separation part of your post, you're wrong about our WRs. Unlike past years, when we relied on 1 to 3 WRs to get most the stats, this team consistently spreads out the distribution.

You're bitching about WR play, yet how many contributed to a good passing game? This year's qbs and wrs are making plays they didn't make last year. The few mistakes are from miscommunication. For only being 3 games into a new qb and for the most part inexperienced WRs, they're doing damn well.
I expected much more inconsistent passing game struggles, the 1st half of this season.

This wr group is deep. Defenses will pay for focusing on any one or 2 wrs. We do have the talent to have multiple big play WRs and or TEs.

You're being overly harsh on the WRs.

I swear it seems like Marcus has tripped over his own feet on half of his carries this season.

Really??!!! I actually went back and watched his runs over the past three games. He did trip in game one on a screen pass that was thrown behind him and then again on his first run in game three (today). Every other run was hard nose and well done. Give the kid a break. He is back and should be getting much more opportunities.
He remains their best option. I am baffled why they are spreading it out so much.
