Griz to not put names on back of jerseys this year, and other uniform hints

To add to this, can someone please point out the EXACT quote or name the person who said Stitt decided to change it up and pull names and for exactly what reason? A lot of speculation about "Stitt doesn't want individuals" or he's sending a message that "the name on the front of the jersey is is more important than the one on the back" But I have seen or been at EVERY single interview Stitt has done since he was hired, and I've never heard him say ANY of those things.

What I did see was: First off, player names will not appear on the 2015 Griz jerseys, a savings to the athletic department of $3,000 per each set of jerseys (the Tackle Twill nameplates can run $30 apiece plus labor to adhere). Per the Missoulian and Head equipment man Rob Stack.

Why can't it just be as simple as that?

If they are paying $3k to have names on a set of jerseys......whoever allows that should be fired.

You can buy the fu*king iron/machine that does that for less than $3k and do it yourself.

Not per set of jerseys, for all of the jerseys.

Okay so we know that one game we will wear these granite uniforms. The homecoming game will be copper and gold. One home game will be the pink game for da cancer. What are the other combos going to be? I know they planned an all maroon game but dont know which game it will be. Road games they have a mix but nothing all one theme like all white or anything. Anyone else know what the there game will look like?

So the kids get jacked about having different uniform combinations but it doesn't matter to them that their name is not on the jersey? Hmmmm

Not per set of jerseys, for all of the jerseys.

No, it's actually per set. Meaning, for all 100-odd of the maroon home jerseys 'set,' $3000; for all 100-odd road jerseys 'set,' $3000, etc. About $30 apiece x 100.

There is NO POSSIBLE WAY this is true. None. Not a f***ing chance

The only name on the uniform that means everything to me is "MONTANA".

God forbid, this actually forces fans to actually look something up during a game to find out who is doing what. Maybe PR suggested this to force fans who did not play the game to focus more on the game. (Just kidding PR, not trying to derail this thread.) Just a friendly jab. :)

As for helmets, I love the helmets with the state emblem.

Which team was it that had the words like "Honor" and "Teamwork" printed on the back instead of names? I bet rimrockgriz would know.
