Griz to not put names on back of jerseys this year, and other uniform hints

I like the names on the jerseys. I disagree with any assertion that putting them on or leaving them off makes one damn bit of difference in the way the players play. I believe that in the beginning it helps players identify one another, especially the new guys on the team. Ultimately it is the school's call and it won't change the way I feel about being a Griz fan.

This news is like a month old and I'm with 420 I don't care either way, the important name is on the front. Our two winningest head coaches didn't have name on their teams jerseys either.

It's a team sport, not an individual sport. Also, with the hint of more uniform combo's this year, it would get expensive. I'm okay with it.

I heard that too man, but you know some crazy shit happens at WaGriz with the weather.

It’s like the spring scrimmage were it was somehow a bone-chilling 32 degrees with a 70 mph frigid wind, and yet I am playing golf across town in 60 degree weather.

It is reported that Penn State has gone back to No Names. ... they only had the names to recognize those players that stayed thru the Sandusky shyt!

And who gives a fuck about all the stupid advertisements on the scoreboard? Put some fucking scores and stats and some witty skits on there instead of "How Monte Learned to Scratch His Nuts", nobody gives a fuck about that, even the 10 year olds don't watch that shit.

And what about that fucking Mo, what's his purpose? Get in the way and slow the game down? At least Monte has some skills, Mo is like the half-wit cousin your folks made you take along when he was in town visiting, you ditched him and we should ditch Mo too, or throw him in a ditch better yet.

Yes and no. His first year in 03 they did have names on the back. In 04, 05 and 06 they did not. I remember the same discussion on this board then that is going on now. Names came back in 07, 08 (minus the "throwbacks game against state college, no names in that game) and 09. So I guess you are partially correct.
