Hopefully this can be kept up here briefly since it has so little traffic.

Has anyone played Action PC games? I recently bought their basketball game, and they have Big Sky Conference seasonal Replays available based on historical stats. I've got the 2006-07 season in hand.

No i haven't. Would you talk about the game a little more. Like why are the historical stats important?

Im thinking about buying the football version.

And I've never played a statistical game like this before.

Well I myself just bought the game, but played some baseball games like it in the past. I also bought a pro season for basketball. In general, the game assigns game ratings for different skill sets based on actual historical data, including usage. Of course someone can edit that data. I also bought the football version, which has many FCS seasons (they are working on last years) but have yet to play. Just thought it cool we can recreate a season. IMO much more accurate than an X-box or Playstation type game.

Not started playing the season yet but here is an example of the play selection section. This is not a video game like Madden. Its strategy based on actual stats. The football game is insanely complicated (still learning) but here is a brief explanation of what to do in this scenario.

Example is 1979-80 NBA season, Bird/Magic rookie year. My hope is to replay every season in each sport with this scenario....What if a player stayed with the same team he started with until he retired. Thus different rosters and interesting teams. (ie Babe Ruth is a Red Sox forever, Bret Farve a Falcon, Abdul-Jabar a Buck, Phil Esposito A Black Hawk)

I have 3 options...

-- Select a green button
-- Do a Custom Play Call
-- Choose an actual player to "go to"

I usually do the last one. The play is random based but you can decide.

-- Westpahl is probably not a good choice, although he is open, and rates high for "drives" & "shooting" (8/8), Cheeks plays on 9 defense and he is denying him the ball. If he already had the ball then better option because Cheeks in his position only grades a 1 for outside shooting

-- White, better choice, he is being guard by Free, who's defense is not as good, but then too he is not as open as Westpahl.

-- Maxwell, good shooter inside, (thus only rated a 7 because he can't drive as he's already inside) but Bristow has good defense and is denying him the ball.

-- Bird, just doesnt look good, not open Bryant plays good defense.

-- Cowens is best choice to "go to" here. He is posted inside, is open and his shooting of 5 is much better than Catchings inside defense of 1. Catchings has good driving defense at 9, so could stop Cowens from driving.

Of course if you choose pass, it resets your options.

There is so much to these games that you can set up, lineups, types of offense and defense, play online vs others, etc. The game screen actually shows what's below, the play by play box, a basketball court with the players positions, and numerous box scores etc.

They do have some seasons that pertain to the Grizzlies....

-- Big Sky Conference Basketball (2005-6, 2006-7, 2007-8)
-- Big Sky Football (2011)
-- FCS Football package (2012, 2013) they only include the following teams though (but basically you could set up a league with all these teams, and have them play a season)

FOR 2013
2013 FCS Top 20
Colonial Athletic Association
Missouri Valley Conference
Southern Conference
Big Sky Conference

Starting the one basketball season tomorrow. Buying the other two on Friday, plus getting last years FCS for football. Obviously for football you have a playbook, you can click on the play you want to run...and the player to run it.

Sounds cool. I'm looking forward to your updates, summaries, reviews etc.

All I need is another sports type game to get addicted to. I am playing the free daily, weekly fantasy games at fan duel. Signed up for draft kings too. Fan Duel only lets WA residents play the free games. Meanwhile I have not figured out a way to play at draft kings. WA and MT have tight regulations against playing for money at these sites.

I'd love to know if I can play for money tournaments if I could somehow prove my home ownership and license are still in CO, even though I live away from there the majority of time. My state of residency is still CO though. I wish all states would just legalize online poker and fantasy leagues.

As I see it now, I think the Lady Griz have a future super star in their midst in Kaleigh Valley. Her offense in career potential reminds me of Jeanne McNulty. She could come in and score 25-30 points every game, no problem.

Just a sophomore with only a 4.4 pts avg. so far, but with a 37.2 3-pt fg%, which is pretty decent for a freshman year; on 80 % Free Throw shooting and hopefully progressing beyond a 38.6 FG %. She came on big in the post season games, the games that matter. And still she may not start. The bench still looks good this year, all around. Valley and McCalle Feller coming off the bench is looking awesome.

In the Frontcourt, I suspect it's now up to Mekayla "Mac" Isaak, a 6'2" RS FR, to be called on more so than what would have been normally expected. I think she's got the 'grit' to do so. A 'rich' opportunity beckons.

Another interesting player to watch is the new freshman Sierra Anderson, a 5'6" PG. She had pretty decent numbers averaging 15.3 ppg playing along side a highly touted recruit to Udub, a Kingma whose older sister also played for the Huskies, that avg 15.6 ppg. But Kingma got the Headlines while Anderson was getting most of the assists. I think she'd be at least a three-star.

Rachel Stuadacher looks like a pretty decent point-forward at 6'1," also.
