The coaches poll has the Griz ranked #13: https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/football/fcs/fcs-coaches-poll

Griz have work to do but can still get healthy... right the ship and be a team nobody wants to see come playoff time.

7-4 will get the Griz into the playoffs. 8-3 could get a seed. While winning the Big Sky Conference is not in the cards this year, every other goal can still be
attained. Don't count this team out... They are almost beating the top teams in the country... they are not getting steam rolled.

Relax everyone... support the team and the players... the fun part of the season is upon us... Griz have their backs against a wall...

THEY WILL RESPOND, and in all likelihood take you on a deep post-season run.

The Griz will have the resume as they have shown what they can do, on the road, without their starting QB. They have 0 bad losses, play in one of the toughest conferences and have a tough schedule. They pass the eye test as a top team, and I think the stats will prove that at the end of the regular season as will their ranking. THEY ARE ONE OF THE BEST 24 FCS TEAMS

Montana State very well could be the #2 or #1 team in the country when the Griz play them on Nov. 19th in Bozeman. Griz again playing another top team in the country on the road. The Griz have already shown what they can do against the top teams in the country on the road... the lone loss at home was to a very good Idaho team that almost knocked off Sacramento State on the road and FBS teams to start the season. That is not a bad loss.

Almost beat Sacramento State on the road (Griz without starting QB most of game, Sac State recovered "Onside type" Kick, Sac State got benefit of 4th down call)
Almost beat Weber State on the road (Griz without starting QB, mustered not much offense at all... only lost by 3 points)

Having the Bobcats at the end of the season against a top opponent is a great thing for the Griz and will allow them to yet again show you what they can do against the top teams in the country.

What is surprising to me is most fans not knowing how the FCS playoffs work (24 teams) and not understanding that the Griz are still one of the best teams in the country at the FCS level despite going through some adversity the last three weeks. This season is far from over.

"We're in a rough spot right now. We've lost three games in a row. We're down a bunch of guys and it's just been it's been rough. Our guys competed their tails off for us, and for Montana, and we're just coming up short," said head coach Bobby Hauck.

"I want to lose my marbles and just be upset, but the dose of reality is we've just played two of the top five teams in the country on the road back-to-back. We lost one in overtime in a game that we controlled the whole way and got some things really go against us. Then today again, down a bunch of guys and we lost by three."

Relax Griz Nation... Griz will be showing their mettle soon...

We can hang our hat on such a great attendance that committee will give us a spot. But going on the road to play every game attendance does mean donkey. I would be very surprised if we go with 7 wins. There is a lot of teams that will end up with 7 wins and have won some games with better records then us.

Very good post. I agree. Don't want to count on getting into playoffs at 7-4, but possible. Not sure 8-3 gets a seed.

Lots of football to be played, and I've not worked through all the possible combinations. Still, even a quick overviews suggests that there will be quite a few 7-4 teams hoping for a bid. If one of those is UM, they will be in pretty good shape ... the pollsters clearly recognize that the Big Sky is very strong this year. However, I agree that – barring some really weird stuff – an 8-3 record will be pretty shaky to earn a seed.

Playoffs start this weekend. Lose one of the next 3 & the coaches can focus on recruiting quarterbacks and coaches.

Is playing Cal Poly showing "mettle"?....

So we're supposed to have an Idaho, SacSt or Weber every week? This is the BSC. Get real.

Griz have 2 very winnable games then the cats. I just hope they don't speak into playoffs make a small run to like the quarter finals then lose out. I'm afraid if that happens they will not make the changes that have to be made to become a true title contender agin.
