Griz QB? What's shaping up so far?

For what it's worth, I listened to an interview with Wortham a few months ago. He sounds like a pretty amazing player and person. At the end, the guy doing the interview asked Michael to recommend another player who he thought had star potential and might agree to be interviewed. He said...... Keali'i Ah Yat. Then said, he thought Ah Yat was the most talented QB he had ever seen.

Love to hear that! He had quite a bit of spring with KAY before KAYs injury, and im sure they've spent a ton of time together in summer workouts. So his assessment is most certainly noted.

What does he know? He only sees him perform in practice every day.
It's not Wortham reads egriz regularly to get the real inside dope.

I personally think based on our spring game and Ah Yat's injury history nothing else but my armchair QB gut that Jensen, who didn't travel all the way from LA up to Montana to sit on the bench, is our starter, but if I'm wrong and it's Keali'i, great 👍--let's just get behind whoever is our starting QB and also support our # 2 because we don't have a real good track record of keeping our starting QB upright and healthy for the complete season the last several years--hopefully that changes this year with a big, strong talented O line with the most depth we've had since Bobby was last our HC from 2003-2009 !!!

The most important goals for this year are to win 10 or more games, beat The Shi__y Kitties 😸, win The BSC, and stay home @ WA-GRIZ and keep winning in the playoffs and then into and through January in Tennesee regardless of if it's Jake, Keali'i, or Luke with some help from Michael behind center-- we may need all four 😀 !!!

Go GRIZ. !!!

Well, good news then! Since both of last year's All-American QBs now play for the Raiders, I guess things are still wide open. ;)

No disrespect intended, but this is the circular logic I hear from a lot of the Griz fanbase. "We want a multi-year starter that becomes an All-American, but Ah Yat wasn't an All American yet as a freshman so he isn't good enough, but don't bring in a transfer because we need a long term starter." It is a lot of self immolation. We have a young QB who showed some serious flashes of potential but needs to grow, like any young FCS QB. We have Jensen, who has been coached by the best possible QB coaching team in the FBS and who has also shown he can really toss the ball. We also have a kid from Idaho who was a high school stud and has been fighting it out to show he belongs at this level, and sounds like he has really impressed a lot of people.

We may very well have a championship caliber QB, we just don't know who it is yet. The thread would be a lot more sad if nobody thought they had a guy.
Words of wisdom!

After watching today’s practice it’s very obvious that Ah Yat has matured physically and at least for the day mentally as well. No rust very few errors accurate balls. To be honest Jensen just did not look great. I feel Flowers had a much better day. I know it’s first practice but I’ll repeat that I believe Ah Yat may be turning the corner and that’s a damn good thing. Cautiously optimistic.

Hauck talked quite a bit....or at least was asked quite a bit about the quarterbacks haha

"You know what, I want to win games. Any decision we make, is to help us win that game, that week. It's about winning on Saturday." Go Griz!!

BTW, does Bobby ever age? He looks like he's 40 (at least what most college head coaches look like when they are 40). I want to know his secret.
