This game was finito before it started. Until we have a true post player and not a bunch of small forwards and some ok guards we will compete in the bigsky and that is all.

Who pissed in your Cheerios

For real, we would all love to win one of these games but it’s never gonna be in our favor or the most realistic thing

How about is it too much to ask to just be remotely competitive?
Honestly no, and that’s just the truth. It’d take a real special night to even be in a game like this. Don’t get me wrong I always think we can win a game like this going in and then the game is played and I’m reminded it’s unlikely. The disheartening thing is if we could do what basketball is about and make shots especially the open ones we’d be in this game. You just can’t shoot poorly and win a game like this

Should probably fire the coach then.

Don’t think that’s gonna be an issue. He’s got less than 12 months left here anyways. I’m sure two straight blowout losses will help pave the way out the door....

Why does it happen with regularity for other 12-15 seeds then? Why is it ALWAYS a blowout for us?

I don't think the coach is the issue.

It is pretty embarrassing to be on a national stage and get blowout but what would you be happy with in this type of game?

MSU (2) 76, Bradley (15) 65
FSU (4) 76, UVM (13) 69
LSU (3) 79, Yale (3) 76
Auburn (5) 78, UNM (12) 77

But no, we get a 16/1 score just about every year.

Just shows how far the BSC and its members are behind.

Both his feet were inside the circle.

Restricted area didn't apply there because it was Oguine's man, not help.

Restricted area always applies.

No, it is for help defenders sliding over on perimeter drives. Does not apply in post-up situations.

Nope, you are wrong. It has nothing to do with help defenders. It's any defender. It keys off when an offensive player starts to go up for a shot on a drive. Whether it's your man or you're a help defender, you can't stand in the arc or slide into the arc to take the charge. You are right that the arc rule does apply to post defense, as was the situation that started this discussion (because the offensive player wasn't driving to the basket).

Surely didn’t think we’d play worse than last year.

Why? What is really different?

Every player out there was here last year and shouldn’t be intimidated. We have dedicated 3-point shooters that we didn’t have last year.

I agree it’s shitty that we get this opportunity and literally don’t even compete. We have never even looked like we belonged. Idk what needs to be done but it’d be nice for your best players who are seniors to show out and have 20 not 5. One guy wouldn’t change things but maybe if we had some more pure shooters we could at least not look like shit every time we play on national tv. Pridgett is the only one that belongs in terms of individual play.

The bummer of it all is that at the beginning of the year I truly thought this was a Griz team that was going to do something special this year....not get embarrassed in the tournament again.

I know they aren't core rotation guys but why not try Kramer or Anderson? Reps would be good at least.

We have to find a way to score high 60’s to low 70’s to really be competitive. I think we have scored 30’s to 40’s the last 3 times.
