GRIZ Offense Is.....

..is best when we run to set up the pass. Getting behind the sticks on first and 2nd down has been painful to watch at times today. More play action please.

Best when Ah Yat is in. Fife did a great job at the end leading some drives and that’s exactly what we need in a backup. But Ah Yat is the starter 100%. He forgot about the pick and did a lot of damage to their defense. And yes I agree that hurry up is key. But having a 6+ minute drive at the end with running the ball was what put the game on ice. We didn’t give the game away.

I loved what Ah Yat shoed. A fucking ton of leadership, and grit. I love this for him, and even getting hurt in the effort to score will only make his teammates love him more. Guys love a QB who will sacrifice himself.

Also, though, loved what Fife was showing. If we have settled on Ah Yat as the starter and Fife as the backup, I will take that. Kid came in, made good reads and CRISP passes even when I thought we shouldn't be passing. Took a smart sack. I love where our QB room is at for now and the future. I'd love to have Nick Foles kind of backup that can come in and light it up. I quietly had been concerned earlier, but the passes both guys made, the zip on their ball to guys who sat down against zone coverage or beat their man....... We can win some games with this. I guess, at some point, I should really stop doubting Pease.

... gonna get better. First page of the game thread was Ah Yat bashing. He got it together. He's a red shirt freshman. He's gonna be great some day. Fife brought a different dimension to the offense. Has a rocket arm. With the running game, we just need consistent game managers. That's what we have now. As the season goes on, these two are going to settle in. At least it's exciting to watch. Gotta stock up on Pepcid or anxiety drugs, but a good outcome today.

Was an awesome moment after ah yat got hurt Bergen did not leave his side when he was getting looked at by the staff sitting on the table on the sideline

Thought it was great leadership by Bergen to sit there with ah yat the whole time

He’s at his best when the staff lets him use his feet. When they make him stand back in the pocket stiff as a board, he’s not very good. But when they let him run and get out of the pocket, he’s pretty good. Let him fly

He's plenty capable in the pocket.
Did you see his pass to Bergen near the end of the 1st half?

How impressive was that pass? Pocket collapsing on him, defender in his face, couldn't step into that pass, actually was falling back, he throws an absolute dart to Bergen. That was all arm! That's a throw many quarterbacks can't make.

I'm sold on him from the WCU game. He's tough as nails too. How much respect did that game earn him from his teammates?

Which future opponent will limit our running game and force the GRIZ to prove it through the air? I'm looking forward to see how him meet that challenge.

That was a nice throw, but I meant it more in the sense that when he stands in the pocket all day he struggles. When he uses his legs, that’s when things start to take off for him

I have said early on that he gets us to the natty using his legs.. he has the head and arm and all that will be evident as the season rolls on..

That was as big of a big boy throw as I’ve seen in that stadium in a long time. The zip he had on that ball from his back foot was big time. And the timing was even better, Bergen was just coming off his break and hadn’t cleared his defender when the throw happened but ah yat knew he would.

Also looked like his arm was out to the side and not over the top. It was a hell of a throw.
