Griz No. 6 in the STATS Poll

USDSU plays UNI. If the Griz win out, they'll likely be #3 or #4 in the final poll. Inside track for playoff seeding.

where is the cutoff for seeding? #4?

The top 8 teams are seeded. Big difference if Griz would potentially get #4 vs #5 as #4 would be the home team in that potential 4/5 quarterfinal matchup.

I don't mean this to be trash talking at all. On the contrary, I am very impressed the way the Griz have played this year and turned it around compared to last year. One thing that I do not understand is how the pollsters can rank the Griz ahead of Sac State considering Sac State easily beat the Griz just a few weeks ago. I understand that Sacramento state is coming off a loss, but that was to a very high rank team.
So do you think the Cats should be 23rd, or should UND be 11th? :coffee:

Twenty-four teams get auto or at-large bid. Eight teams earn first-round byes, while the other 16 face off in a first round eliminator. The eight winners then meet the bye teams. The way the field is structured, a top-4 seed is basically guaranteed an extra home game ... if it wins out, obviously.

Ok, How is NDSU ranked #1 besides they have won 80 of the last 81 championships? They haven't played anybody. The teams they beat are 40-39 so far, and the teams they face in the 3 remaining games have a 9-18 record. They didn't play anyone in 1-A.

What about JMU being #2... The teams they beat are 35-45, with the remaining teams 17-14. They played one 1-A team in West Virginia, but it's been a while since they were a good team.

If Montana had won against Sac St., would that automatically make them #2 because they played Oregon?

Maybe, maybe not.

While the questions are flowing, why is Alabama #1 or #2? They REALLY haven't played anyone. If they were beating up on D2 schools, they would probably still get some hummina hummina meow meow from the pollsters. The teams they beat are 28-41, they haven't even had an opponent until LSU this week... Auburn closes out the season, but in between is 2 teams with 6 combined wins.

They will get dealt with this week, and then will get dealt with again in their "playoffs".

That's great. You're also #1 in the Getting Fucked By Idaho Poll. Cheers, ladies.

Welcome back VP. Watching the debauchery wouldn't be the same without you. Do you think you'll stop posting at halftime or midway thru the third quarter this year?

My honest opinion is the cats should be ranked closer to the high teens and yes at this point I would rank North Dakota above the cats

It will be interesting to see where the selection committee ranks the Griz on Wednesday when they rank the top 10 playoff seeds. Unlike the FBS committee, they will only do it once, so a lot of it is subjective due to games remaining. Nonetheless, I'm curious to see where the Griz land.

ND lost to EWU and got trounced by Idaho State. They got a gift to be in the poll this week.

Naturally. The Griz are everybody’s super bowl in this conference. A sure sign we are on the path to #RTD.

After the last bye week, I have mixed emotions about a first-round bye.

Yeah, I take your point.

However, that's another week after the last game of the season for dinged up players to get better. I think I'll take that trade-off.

Meh, who knows. Our team is so jekyll & hyde this year. I actually like Montana a lot. Montana is the only team in the Big Sky I care enough about to come over and talk shit. Having said that, can you guys lay off the sheep long enough to refinish the little brown stein? I want it nice an perdy for its return to its rightful place.

So there is a place in your quonset hut for it? Moved the combine over a smidge?

Is Monmouth now our best win? :o Only currently ranked team we have beat.

Probably but when you look at our opponents win-loss record it’s not too bad overall. The strength of schedule is still strong.

Overall opponent record is 43-39

Its a below average schedule at best You have to throw out the records of the 2 blowout losses and look at the record of the teams we won against.

That number is 29-35 with one win against a team that has a winning record and that was Monmouth. The same can be said about the other "Top Teams" in the conference all though they have better wins than we do.

Excluding non FCS records

Sac State- wins against UM and MSU
Weber- wins against UNI and Sac state
Montana State- Win against SEMO
