Griz/NAU game thread

Injured player? I saw someone being helped off the floor at the end. Was it DeSheilds? Number 20 I think.

Deshields was hobbling around at the end.

Griz defense won this one and their athleticism shined in the second half. NAU's guards shot bad and must have had all of the 15 turnovers.

Good game, Griz fans. Once Cherry's at full speed...look out.

Thanks MTJ. I'll tell you this, I watched the NAU/msu game Monday and watched this today. And I'll say this: There is NO WAAAY the Jacks finish last in this conference. They always find guys with serious talent.
 
Griz finally closed one out---though not with its moments. We were very lucky NAU missed all those 4-5 offensive rebounds they got in the last minute and we got away with sloppy ball handling also. The boys just have to get mentally tougher in closing time and take better care of the rock. A better shooting/more experienced team would have cashed in on those opportuntinies against us. Nonetheless, a win is a win and the first conference game on the road we'll take it. Good to see Will rounding into form somewhat and his presence/poise was vital there at the end hitting those money FT's. :clap: :thumb:

Hope that Shields injury (if it was one?) isn't serious....
 
It wasn't pretty. KJ just didn't seem himself tonight. A lot of uncharacteristic mistakes by the entire team (passes to no one, KJ dribbling the ball over the half-court line, etc). But the bottom line is 1-0.

It was sketchy for the first 10 minutes of the Griz game, but then was good. It's working fine for the cat/sac game (assuming that a camera mounted 70 yards from the court in that joke of a gym is "good").
 
msu might be the worst shooting team. Ever.

It's like Brad went to a track meet and found 11 really athletic guys and said, "Hey, do you wanna play basketball for msu?"

And they all say, "Sure!!! Ummmm...what's a basketball?"
 
Pretty much. The thing is, a few of these dudes put up huge numbers in jc. Apparently not much for defense in those leagues.
 
Glad to see the GRIZ won a hard close game. I missed the whole thing. The computer I bought a month ago, had no power when I got home from work. Took it back, and got it exchanged. They troubleshot it for about an hour and it was dead. Got home, did not have any of the new software installed for the gogriz.com audio or bigskytv video feed. By the time i got it all installed it was over. Good news, it is working great for the Sac MSU game. Will watch the VOD when it is up on bigskytv.

Well, with their athleticism, they were probably able to create better shots at that level. But at the DI level, you gotta be able to shoot it a little.

Part of it with the cats is shot selection, though. I mean, you're not gonna shoot for a high percentage if you dribble around 6 feet above the circle for 4 seconds, then launch a 3 with 30 seconds left on the shot clock.
