GRIZ/LBSU

Sheesh, LBS had a great game, we had a crappy one. Nothing to get all bent about. The Griz will come back and put the smack down on EWU and PSU next week. Bank on it.

Nice win by No. Col. tonight, though.

How disappointing, an opportunity to attract some national attention, and we lay a huge egg.

Bad matchup for the Griz. LBSU quickness and athleticism took Qvale out of the game.

I'm already excited for next week's games. The Griz have a great overall attitude and I think they will get it together and still host the tourney.

Savage beating. We looked scared and slow.

Hopefully we come out pissed off the next two road games. The last three road games have been losses of 16, 17, and 18.

I still predict a sweep and hosting the tourney.

The sad thing is, regarding basketball, I want the Griz to win every year but when it comes down to it I hope the best team from the Big Sky goes to the dance so the conference has the best chance to pull the upset....whether its the Griz or not. That might sound bad but it's the truth and from what I have seen tonight Montana has some work to do as LBS is no where near a calibur of opponent the Big Sky Champ will see in the dance.

I think Long Beach is better than you give them credit. They have played one of the most difficult schedules in college basketball, and even though they lost most of them, they played fairly well in all of them.

..you are probably right but when I saw their starting lineup and overall size I really thought Montana would have their way inside and cause LBS problems all night and they would be the ones in foul trouble. What I saw was a team that was playing in 5th gear against a team stuck in 3rd gear trying to get the ball inside to one guy while our other 7ft guy cleaned off the grime that was clinging to the 3 point line with the bottom of his shoe. Speed and athleticism definitely was a HUGE difference in this game and I really didn't think that could neutralize the advantages the Griz had. Oh, and the fact that LBS shot the lights out all game did not help either.

Selvig is not a guy that is going to bang inside, and it looks like Tinks is happy playing an offense with Qvale in the middle and four guys glued to the floor around the three point line, even if none of them can make a shot from out there.

I can't wait for GrizLA to hit the board.

Hahahahahaha, true. I am blaming him. Every time he goes to a Griz game they take a huge crapper.

I was thinking the same thing...New Rule, GrizLA can no longer attend Griz basketball in person, maybe not even watch it live.

After three road blowout losses in a row, I think the only way we get a sweep is to start our five best guys. That mean Stockton sits and is replaced by Jamar. Stockton did nothing tonight and looked severely over matched. Selvig also did basically nothing and looked horribly tentative. At least with Selvig though, you know he has the talent to bounce back. I just don't see why Wayne would continue to start Stockton. Too much is at stake. I also have to wonder why Steward did not come back in later in the second half. The Griz have lost their road mojo. I don't think it will return without getting Jamar and Steward more on the floor at the same time.

A healthy Cherry sure would open up the court for us. He is not even 75%

The crowd has got in his head too!!!

I think that's definitely the case. Every time the crowd chanted "AIR BALL" he was looking to get rid of the ball asap. Totally different player in the second half. It didn't look like he ever thought about shooting or driving when the ball was in his hands

I was wondering that, too. He can be so explosive and is a great finisher. I wonder why Tinkle doesn't try and exploit that, too. He is a great athlete and really fun to watch.

This is the ugliest perimeter shooting team I have ever seen, at any level. Good Lord the Griz threw up some s-h-i-t! :( (Div 1 my ass)

Kudos for Chase Adams coming in and knocking down a couple very late 3-pointers, he looked good doing it and it helped up the measely 50 pts we had.

I couldn't agree more about the lineup and Steward. Seemed like Art sat forever during that one stretch. Selvig needs to spend more time down low against smaller, quicker defenders to avoid off nights like tonight.
