GRIZ/LBSU

Now that we are all down...I mean really down...Lets ask for Tinks to quit. Meanwhile back at the game....

Serious re-plays still show a bad effort on our part. BUT...THE OTHER TEAM SHOT THE LIGHTS OUT!!!
As stated many times we shot like sh-------t. Bad game on our part......But we must re-group and we will. We all have games like this every now and then. In a few days we may forget tonight. Air Balls in my dreams! Kinda makes me think of Tiger Woods...

I was joking about Tinks, I like him.

I can't wait for GrizLA to hit the board.

Hahahahahaha, true. I am blaming him. Every time he goes to a Griz game they take a huge crapper.

I was thinking the same thing...New Rule, GrizLA can no longer attend Griz basketball in person, maybe not even watch it live.
Well, I was there when UM embarrassed UCLA....tonight it was their turn...don't know why Selvig even bothered to suit up....the Griz really looked awful....and I mean AWFUL! The kids behind me from Long Beach kept yelling "shoot the 3", or "try hitting the backboard"....and the LB players were laughing it up....Selvig and Stockton....yikes....Jamar looked good, thankfully...Cherry is still not ready and should not have played....the Griz future is not so good without Qvale..Selvig is simply 7 feet of not much...UM needs someone who can shoot from outside....with Qvale being doubled every time the perimeter was wide open yet all Um had was airballs.....and incessant passing to Qvale, in vain, while Selvig appeared to be afraid of being touched or moving his feet, and don't get me started on the guard "play"....ah, well, the Umami burgers were good...and the rain is needed....I don't think UM will win the Big Sky tourney...but, they might put up a better show in the nit...

I read that you had Plater in for a recruiting visit and all you offered him was a walk on with a chance to earn a scholarship while Monson swooped in and gave him a full ride. If you offered a full ride from the beginning, who knows, maybe Plater would be your outside threat. I really think Monson and the staff are doing a good job in getting slightly under the radar guys with potential and developing that. You can see it in our guys. We are a way better team than in the beginning of the season and way better compared to when the Fab Four(Ware, Robinson, Phelps and Anderson)came in as freshmen. Considering our #3 toughest schedule, we would have a better record if we had the team we have now back then. I think we'll be the SDSU of next year. Maybe not Top 10 but definitely Top 25 potential. If I'm wrong, make sure to give me shiate when next year's game comes along.

And Grampa, I might take you up on that ski trip minus the video in the rv session with Iris. And I can handle the bowl as long as it's not mogles. I like the steep. I've never been up to Montana so I'm up for a new experience. Especially if you can fish for trout. Are the streams open this time of year?

Gramps, I missed your shaggin wagon in the parking lot. WTF? You're a tease like all of them. I even went to the bank and got extra $1s. Sigh.

Selvig is not a guy that is going to bang inside, and it looks like Tinks is happy playing an offense with Qvale in the middle and four guys glued to the floor around the three point line, even if none of them can make a shot from out there.
Before you can make them, you have to shoot them and tonight they rarely even tried and when they did it was mostly air....one good shooter and the Griz would have won this easily....the perimeter was wide open while Qvale was double teamed...when he was in, that is...

True on the outside shooting. Would have also been nice to have someone slashing to the bucket for a quick dump-off from Qvale when doubled. Someone was open.

Selvig (and of course a healthy Will Cherry) are really the keys to this Griz team. (Oh, I was at the game last night also). Selvig can play and then totally disappear and look like a guy that has just recently laced up basketball shoes. The mental side and focus of his game leaves me wondering many times. I have watched him enough to have seen both sides. Only attempting 3 shots last night makes me scratch my head. Will is not anywhere near ready to be playing his game after the injury and our lack of consistent depth at that position kills the offense and it looks totally different when he can not get around defenders and into gaps to be a threat to the basket. I have had the opportunity through my business travels this year to see every Big Sky Conference team play. The team that is better than their record shows his Portland State but they can not be a tourney team this year. With that the Griz have as good a shot at the Big Sky Tourney title as any other team. Of course if they take care of business this next week on the road, which is starting to look like a huge mental thing, their odds increase greatly as they play much differently and with greater intensity in Missoula.

I just hope this isn't a confidence killer with two huge road games looming. That was a very talented long beach team, but the Griz played horrible.
