GRIZ/LADY GRIZ vs Cats/Lady cats games thread

Now I will start pulling for EWU to beat Weber State, and SUU to beat PSU. I really don't want to see Weber State in the 1st game.

I'd love it if they were to play like they are right now...

So a win will guarantee at least a visit to the NIT, correct? Is there not a rule that conference champions automatically get an invite to the NIT if you happen to lose in the conference tournament. GO GRIZ

1st place in the regular season guarantees a NIT bid, if they lose in the conference tournament.

Kemp is very well spoken and a terrific interview in post game with Mick.

This. I was VERY impressed with him during that interview.

He was as smooth of an interview as I've heard. No "ums", "you knows", very respectful, gracious, and complimentary.

Is anybody else a little disappointed in the play of Riley Bradshaw? Don't get me wrong, I love that he's a Griz and not calling him out. Just expected a little more from him I guess.

I'm not. I think he's come on really well in the second half of the season. Think the future is bright for him as he becomes an upperclassman.

Was at the game and it was very fun aside from the first 12 minutes. Kemp played great and it was great to see some of these guys up close for the first time. Mario was so impressive tonight, what a vertical that guy has! You just don't get a good appreciation for it when you are watching him on the screen. He gets up so high! This Griz team plays very well and is hard to rattle. They never seem to panic and know they can get back into any game. Only frustration for me during the game was the rebounding issues early on.

How was the crowd? The announcers kept yappin about the great atmosphere and "the nice crowd" but you could clearly see lots of empty blue seats, even down low near the court. I also noticed they honored the seniors after the game, everybody had left. I dont get that, why not acknowledge the seniors before the game?

Attendance was 3021.

And I agree; honoring the seniors after the game was just odd. Especially after a game they had to figure they were going to lose. Just a strange decision.

That was weird. It's "their" moment, and to do it while the fans are shuffling out after a blow out?

Use it as the Griz did; at the beginning of the game, as a moral booster for the game and for the players as well.

I do not understand MSU. Over time, it acts like an old gas engine that is getting increasingly out of balance and misfiring.

I thought the crowd was decent considering how crapping their team was. It was a far cry from even 6 or so years ago when the place was about twice as full. Crowd really wanted to get into it when the cats were up early. The band and what little students showed up were vocal. The senior who dressed up as Chump was honored before the game. I was actually really surprised more people didn't leave at about 4 minutes left. I expected a trail of tears but no such luck. I think quite a few people did stay to honor the seniors, which was nice from their fans. but, yes, having the honor at the end was weird. I just think they wanted people to stay in their seats as long as possible.
