ya. him making half of his shots and leading you in assists is just killing you. not wards 1-5. or kareems 0-6. or your 11% shooting from three.

We got 'em right where we want 'em.

As I typed this, we were down one, 62-61. Then we reeled off eleven straight. You're welcome. :)

Thanks Weatherman. Please continue these insightful observations. Any idea how the stock market is going to be this month? What are the favored lottery numbers?

Just got back from the game. Wow. What an intense game. The Griz really struggled for the most part, but found a way to win. And congrats to the Eagles for playing a great game tonight!

I was disappointed with the people who were sitting courtside... what will it take to get you people to stand up and make some noise?! Most of the noise during the game came from the student section, which was great! Several of us students waved our arms up in the air to get people to stand up, but they sat with arms crossed much of the game...

Bring your A-Game tomorrow night Griz Nation!! Griz vs Wildcats Round 3 coming up! Go Griz!!

Bump this ..

I was in Sec. 202 upper level...i got more *shut up* looks from a *few* around me all I got to say is...please dont show up for tomorrows game! Thank you!

Talented offensive players for EWU, with success going 1-on-1, or 2-on-2 plays.

STARTERS - - - -FGM-A 3PM-A FTM-A OFF REB AST STL BLK TO PF PTS
Cliff Colimon, G - - 10-20 2-7 5-5 0 4 2 1 0 3 1 27
Cliff Ederaine, F - - 8-11 0-2 0-0 1 4 2 0 2 5 4 16
Laron Griffin, F - - - 5-10 0-0 5-7 4 14 0 2 3 1 4 15

The rest of the team scores 8 points. Colimon gets 27, Ederaine gets 16, Griffin gets 15.

EWU kept making athletic moves. UM defense broke down several times, but look at
this picture and notice two defenders making it a difficult shot.

EWU absolutely destroyed the Griz zone tonight slashing into the paint. We were much better when we played man-to-man...not sure what that means for tomorrow night...just an observation.

I saw the opposite lol. I thought EWU destroyed our man-to-man coverage and we did better once we went to the zone

just some random thoughts after a good nights rest....

despite weber being a much better team than ewu, i think you guys match up much better against them than you did ewu. the eagles are very athletic and go one on one nearly every possession. you simply spread the floor, set a screen on the ball and then another away from the ball creating at least one mismatch....and send your guards to the rim. i don't care how good of a defender you are, (cherry) if you are guarding a very good offensive player like ewu has, you are not going to be able to stop him from getting to the rim when there is no help. and there was rarely help because your bigs were on the perimeter. this was a great game plan by ewu.

i don't think you'll have to rely on the 2-3 zone like you did last night....but i think that zone really changed the game yesterday. ewu still found ways to get to the basket, but at nowhere near the rate they were when you were in man. i look for tinkle to use it from time to time tonight, but you guys can play man defense against weber way better than eastern. weber loves bombing shots from outside, and you guys are likely the best perimeter defensive team in the conference. this will free up ward and selvig to take up space in the middle.

you simply have to shoot better than you did last night. and i think you will. as a cat fan, i have a lot of experience watching terrible shooting performances this year, and you guys reminded me of that last night.

any word on cherry's status? he'll obviously play but i'm just curious what the actual injury is. as a guy who had a similar landing once and landed right on my tailbone....it hurt much worse the next day. again, i understand he's a tough player and i don't look for it to be a big factor but might play a role in his lateral movement while facing the leagues best player.

all in all, when you combine how good you guys are, how much depth you have (didn't see it last night) and home court advantage.....i look for the griz to once again be representing the big sky in the tourney. best of luck.

maybe i'll be back over tonight so i can try and defend selvig again....especially if he has a game like last night where he played just fine. :thumb:

There apparently was enough of BOTH to cause significant consternation. ;)

Great post. But that Selvig kid...he's a liability. ;)

Didn't um play almost exclusively zone against Weber when they played last week?

I expect to see the griz in the 2-3 all night, as I think they're a much better at zone than m2m.

No doubt. If Tinkle would have just left him on the bench where he belongs we'd have won 50 or 60 games this year.

they did but weber missed like a thousand shots from outside. the griz would have been crazy to get out of it because weber had no answers for it. i just don't see weebs shooting as poorly this time as they are actually a very good shooting team. if weber is making their shots, i think um is better off going to man.

Weber did miss a ton of shots...no doubt about it. However, I really like UM's length and athleticism on the perimeter with Jamar and Stewart they do a nice job on closing out on the shooters. Except for selvig, of course, he's pretty much a waste of space offensively and defensively.

We did and went with the full court trap to disrupt WSU as they brought the ball up the court. I couldn't help but notice that PSU did that for a large chunk of the night yesterday as well and it was working ok. Weber seems to force some shots under that scheme.

I think the market wants to drift sideways in March, unable to decide if it wants to lead Europe out of the doldrums, or allow itself to be pulled into the doldrums. As far as the lottery goes, I have no idea.

But I repeat myself. :)

Did Selvig seriously slam a chair on the bench? If so, that's the most emotion i've heard of him displaying.

That's a lot of pen-up agression for an Amish kid.

I saw one shot of the crowd that looked like they were contemporaries of King Tut. I doubt if they could stand up. I'll say it again. That's the first time I've ever seen dead people clap.
