SDSU is surely a top 4 team
By your own personal ranking system? #11 in both the Stats and Coaches polls. Unseeded.

Always the contrarian. Top 4 by most informed FCS followers, Hero Sports, Massey, Sagarin, and pretty much any ranking system other than the coaches poll/stats poll, the worst out there, which is the only poll that had them at 11.

I should know better than to post a reasonable comment here.

The seeding committee certainly didn't have them at #4, did they....

Hauck thinks South Dakota State is the best team in the country when healthy. 1st hand information.

Fair, I personally think 4 of the top 5 teams were on our side of the bracket, and every seed on your side was overrated except for you guys (#4 and #1, especially), but at the end of the day, that's how it rolls.

You'll have your hands full with SDSU, for sure. Despite some of your shitty fans slithering out from under the rocks they've been hiding under for the past few weeks over here, I still hope you guys win. :thumb:

You are spot on. I was really happy when I saw the bracketing. I knew Sammy was overrated and figured it was at least a coin flip game for the Cats. SDSU is surely a top 4 team that would have to play it's third road game in a row at MSU if both made it that far. Cats need to prove they belong this weekend.

While I try not to root for your team, I find myself pulling for them in the playoffs because there are a bunch of Montanans playing. I felt UM was going to give JMU a heck of a game, even after Akem went down. Losing Humphreys was just one too many key pieces to keep it close. Sucks.

By the way, thanks for jolting our coaches into benching McKay. I think that alone was worth the ass whooping.

See you next November.
Being down Hicks-Onu, Babros, and Akem was already a steep hill to climb, but we lost literally the one player that we absolutely could not lose. We are not a playoff team if Brown is the QB, and likely not one with Patterson, either.

It's too bad, but that's just football sometimes (and it's been the majority of the football we played this season, it feels like). This was a truly special team when at full strength, and we probably only got to see them at full strength for 1 game.

SDSU's greatest weakness is their coaching, and they likely only lose one game this season if their coaches weren't idiots at the end of the games. For that reason, you guys certainly have a shot, but they'll be the best team you've played by a long shot.

SDSU doesn’t have much of an excuse as to not being the most dominant team the last 2-3 years outside of masses of injuries. I cannot seem to pinpoint outside that why they are losing to teams like USD. Yeah we had a close game against ID, and you guys SUU but we both still WON. I can’t put my finger on their trail of misfortunes or shortcomings but they’re legit. Is it the coaching stuff? I’m not sure… we will see what team shows up Saturday.

Were you happy with the seeds? I"ll take Hero, Massey, & Sagarin for accuracy over the committee - who have to factor in money. Money - this level can't afford to travel so they seed based on paring teams that are in close proximity to each other in the same side of the bracket. Watch the replay of the SDSU/Sac game. SDSU is really good, balanced & explosive on O, great stout D. They mauled Sac in the first half & cruised the rest of the way. MSU will have its hands full. The best part though: if MSU beats SDSU, you'll say they haven't beat a good team yet!

The team that had no business being seeded was ETSU. SDSU with that record from a power conference more than deserved that seed.

Exactly. If South Dakota had not had that
lucky last-play Hail Mary touchdown, the SDSU Bunnies would have been a seed.
