If Tinks has some success in the tournament, he'll get a lot of looks. The worry I have is that he gets an offer from a Pepperdine or USD or USF, something that takes him close to Jos. I know he'd love to be able to see more of her and her games.
Maybe. But she's only there a few more years. Why take a job away from Missoula for maybe seeing your daughter play for a few years and then having to live in an area you wouldn't like as much? If Tinkle can build the interest in this program to near sellout levels night after night I think we will have another long-term coach a la Selvig. (I'm admittedly hopeful, yes.)
That would be awesome. I really think he's building something terrific here.
Agree. Although, nobody likes to be underpaid. It's not public info, but most people think Few gets around 600-750k plus incentives, and that is very low for the caliber of the program. Does UM even pay Tinkle 200k? I don't really care how much somebody likes a place, leaving a shit ton of money on the table is flat out dumb, and I don't think Tinkle would do it. I also don't think UM has the aware enough to realize that good coaches leave when you don't pay them. Just because the FB team plays in the second division doesn't mean the rest of the sports do. Dollar. Dollar. Bills. Y'all.
