My favorite Durham moment was two years ago (I think) in Bozeman when Ellis pickpocketed him twice in a row for a nice swing in momentum that essentially sealed the game for the Griz. Was fun to sit next to the cat fans and hear the groaning...

That won't happen again, mslacat tells us Durham is a badass now.

Sounds like your dogging Casey to me!

No, I was dogging mslacat. If I was dogging Casey, I would have said Casey said. If you don't know what I mean, just ask, but you are not my spokesperson OK? :thumb:

Emphasizing defense in practice is one thing. Coaching it during the game is quite another. Who is responsible for calling (or not calling) traps and presses other than the coach? There was no defensive pressure by the Griz, and even worse, very little defensive effort. Casey Durham should be trapped every time he touches the ball.

Casey Durham spent most of the second half on the bench.

Nah, it just seemed like it because they kept calling Taylor's name over and over and over and over...

I have not seen the Griz play this year, but I will see them on Thursday night in Flagstaff.

From what I have read, though, it looks like my analysis from oberserving them last season is true again this season. They are undisciplined, and do not play with much emotion. I was critical of Tinks coaching last year. I am sure that this will be the problem once again this season. We have good enough talent to dominate the Big Sky. If Mike Adrias were our coach, we would kick some butt.

The coaches of our two major mens sports teams, Football and basketball, are weak. We need to cut the rope, and get some talented coaches in here. Huse was the choice, but now he just beats us with inferior talent for our bitter rivals. O'Day looks weaker with every passing month in choosing coaches, or in keeping them when they should be history.

I haven't written off Coach Tinkle or his team. It's still way too early to tell.

I saw them play very well against Colorado State, so I know they have the ability to do that. In that game, they shared the ball, they rebounded hard, and they played defense. I assume they competed well at Fullerton as well.

I know from his post-game comments that Tinkle isn't happy. Hopefully he can figure out a way to get his team to play to their potential. From my arm-chair vantage point, that might entail letting some kids watch a game or two from the bench.

But hell, if I were coaching we'd probably be winless!

What game were you watching?

Exactly!
