if you're gonna get beat 71-46, you might as well do it with the younger players. i don't understand burning a redshirt year then not playing the kid. henderson, deshields, gregory, weisner, reader--the upside potential is obvious. i can suffer a bad year with youngsters getting substantial minutes, because like many of you here, i believe in this staff, and i can see a castle on a mountaintop. it's time we started building a path to it.

the televised beatdown at OSU has disheartening, but then again the Griz FB team had looked absolutely dead in the water in early to middle season.
we have a lot of talent on this team, sometimes coaches simply over coach each possession in games, maybe way too much....we need to loosen up the offense and let em play, take a shot rather than pass, pass and pass again milking the clock

I have never understood Tinks substitution patterns or distribution on minutes. He is regressing back to his first couple of years when he was learning how to be a head coach. I truly think that he worries about players getting mad at him (upper classmen) if they don't get their minutes regardless whether they have earned them. That being said he does have a challenge this year with nothing under the basket except Steward. His talent has improved but he needs to get the younger players more involved so they can mature and gain confidence. Just because your a freshman does't mean that you can only be seen and not heard from.
not much left to say that hasn't been said here before....this season is not going as expected, but as the Griz seasons always go..just when they begin to gain nods and attention it is back to Big Sky level bball.....I agree with the changes suggested here....the seniors are not what the Griz need....
the ref's didn't determine the outcome of this game. The griz were simply beat by a much better osu team. Stockton definately lowered his shoulder and moved into the defender. Cherry was a bright spot for the griz. deshields needs to learn he can't drive into the lane and try to shoot over much taller players.

Man it's frustrating to watch the poor shooting over the past two years. Tinks needs to go after Jared Stutzman, I hear he wants to come to Montana and fly fish all summer long. :thumb:
And once again I will be vindicated when I say, "It's not about you, sunshine."
I DVR'd the game last night so I could watch it a second time. It was so sad I just deleted it.

It was a pretty crappy performance though. Sure, Oregon state is going to be much better this year than they have in the past, but they aren't That good! To compare, we lost to Duke a couple of years ago at Duke by less than we just lost to Oregon State....
Not a good game for the Griz at all. These past two games have been downright awful for the Griz.
I'm still confident that everything will be on the right track by conference time though. I'm guessing by that point Reader will be starting at the 5. He really is our most efficient scorer inside by far when you look at the stats. Hell, in FGs per minute played he's #1 on the team, and also leads the team in FG%.
I hope Tinkle finds a way to get Henderson more minutes. Out of the incoming freshman I thought he'd be getting the most minutes...but he's actually gotten the least minutes of all of them. I think he could give us a huge boost rebounding and another guy that can get to the hole and draw some contact. Hell, he's already made more FTs than Stockton and Wood combined (he's 5-5), and has played only 20 minutes total (compared to 50 for Wood and 136 for Stockton). I hope we start using him more.

5) Despite the unbridled expectations of Griz fans, the team would be lucky to finish the conference in the Top three, and would not have the players to win the conference.
I think I am correct on all of these points. I will see them in person on January 12 in Flagstaff. But, I already know what I will be watching.
