Griz at Fuskies

Where are most of the Griz fans sitting? I know Sect 101 is traditionally for visitors in Husky Stadium but those are such bad seats

The UM ticket office has a block in section 329, so you can presume that's where most GRIZ fans will be, but anyone who purchases directly from the udub ticket office will be scattered. For an evening game, it's almost preferable to be high (no, not in that way, although it is legal here, of course) in Husky Stadium, simply for the gorgeous views of Lake Washington and (assuming it isn't smokey) the Cascades.

That works out nicely, I just bought a bunch of tickets in sect 330! I remembered there were a number of Griz fans in that area last time they came to town.

I was in Seattle last week for some Mariner and Sounder action. Seattle is a full on Clown Show!!! Sooooooo many bars and restaurants closed, many just boarded up. Those that are open are wicked understaffed. Went to Elliot's on the waterfront at about 3:30. No one seated at the tables outside along the pier. I am thinking excellent..... get to the door and the guy says at least a 2 hour but we can try the bar. Go in get a tall top with no stools and go to the bar to order some oysters and beers. Get told they are too busy to do food at the bar but we can order drinks. Place was well under half full. Left thinking we would find something on the way to the ball game. No place to eat and after the game virtually everything closed. FX McCrories... gone, huge sports bar across from the baseball stadium.... gone!! It is crazy!

I am going to the game in Seattle. I would highly recommmend trying to get reservations for meals or at least plan ahead knowing there will be a wait. I would also recommend Lowell's Resturant and Bar. We ate several meals there as the food and service were great . You will see a line to get in but it moves quickly. Breakfast especially is awesome!

Can't wait to see our boys take the field!!! Go Griz

Is there a local place that Griz fans gather before/after the game? Looking at you Seattle area Grizzlies for some tips...

You gave chosen the right pace to ask your question, tgreseth. Want an expert in the field of sacramental wines, consult a priest. Got questions about serious partying/drinking, ask someone(or his drinking buddy)who wears his experiences and times at Schick Schadel like a Boy Scout candidate for Eagle Scout wears his merit badge sash, or a Master Mason wears his chain, collar, and apron. Look for a real pro. :thumb:

Schick Schadel! I used to visit them as I was their clinical lab rep. Loved the fact the driveway into SS was really steep and narrow. Not good if sh!t faced.

Staffing is certainly an issue, but I’ve rarely waited longer than a few minutes unless I’m trying to eat on the tourist jammed waterfront on an august weekend afternoon prior to a Sounders or Mariners ga….

Wait. I think we may have discovered the problem!

And Lowell’s in the Market?? Huh. Well, glad you had good experiences there.

Historically The Ram has been the pregame meeting spot. But there will likely be plenty of GRIZ fans in all the bars along The Ave ( which really isn’t an avenue at all) before and after the game.

I’d watch the GSA and UMAA page as we get closer as they usually organize a pregame get together.

Thanks EG!

Haven't seen anything for gameday yet, but the UMAA is hosting a Griz on Tap event at Big Time Brewing on Friday night beginning at 5:30. Kent H. will be there, among others.

Very cool location, great old building; feels more like a pub than a brewery.

I am sure Helenahandbasket will report I am freaking out again, but The Ram is permanently closed. Was a cool placed filled with Griz fans last time around.

Was at the M's game with the BC Blue Jays (aka known as the Toronto Blue Jays :D ) Sunday the 15th. Strolled down 1st Avenue postgame to scout out the Big Time Ale and Brewing Company (which the UMAA email had mistakenly located at 207 1st Avenue) and which of course is the site of the historic Central Tavern billed by the establishment as "the oldest saloon in Seattle". Despite the email faux pas I enjoyed a fine brew named "Old Seattle Lager" there and had a pleasant conversation with a young lady who related to me her unemployment struggles in the bar/restaurant business during the Pandemic but is now a bar manager at the Merchant Cafe----another historic Seattle gem. Kudos to her for persevering and getting on track in her profession!

When the border is open that is almost a home game for the Jays, though they do let a few Mariners fans in.

Yooo dooo get soom fans dooown for dat one der, eh? It's like people in Vancooover doon't have anything else tooo dooo, dontchaknooow?

SO you al know mask mandate in Washington went into effect again today. Also requiring all employees of schools at all levels including universities to be vaccinated. Governor is considering either extending that to visiting teams and players as well in contact sports. He might also either require that they play with no fans or have proof of vaccination to enter the stadium as well.
