Griz are 17 point dogs

This sounds about like what we should expect...

A) 17 point underdogs on the road versus the defending National Champs.

B) AlphaBeeson denigrating the Grizzlies.

Yep, about what we should expect.

I don't put much stock in bulletin board material. You have been playing competitive sports for most of your life and you are now in the playoffs. Get your head on straight and play your game.

I am not surprised at this. 4 time defending champ. We are playing on the road, and our teams have taken very divergent paths to get where we are. We are playing better lately, but we still are the same team who lost to Weber and Poly at home (Poly was with Gus) and got lucky against ISU. They have continued to win and did so without their QB 1.

If you are a betting man, and feel strongly about it, take the Griz and the points. I am a betting man, but never bet when it involves my favorite team. Emotions cloud the judgement.

If we have a half like the second half of SDSU, I would definitley give the 17 and take the home. Betting a road dog is a tough way to make a living.
Then they're the same team that lost to USD (yes, the 3-5, 5-6 USD team that finished 7th in the MVFC) WITH their starting QB, that had to come from behind to beat UNI in the last minute of the game, that beat lowly SIU by just 6 points, and that was down 24-10 to YSU before coming back to win (AGAIN with :35 left in the game). So did they get lucky three times?

Just like we could have ended the season 5-6, NDSU could have easily been 6-5. Their Q2 beat the #'s 10, 9, 8, 6 & 5 teams in their conference--he's proven nothing yet, and has never played a playoff game. We went 4-2 with our 2nd/3rd string QB's playing and we've got our first stringer back.

I like our chances straight up. 17 point dog? Bet the house. 8-) 8-) 8-)

Az, I get it. This is why I don't bet on my favorite teams. I either get overly optimistic or overly pessimistic. I can't be reasonable about it. It is probably why I have a glass of scotch ale in my hand most of the game as well.

That's crazy! A Grizzly passing team loaded with Athletes at receiver and can stretch the field in perfect weather and a defense that makes plays! I take those points all day long! Strange that the Griz will have played NDSU 3 times in a 16 month period! Go Griz!

I'll drink to that!

And I'm with you all the way on the other point. Bet a beer on the outcome? No problem. But no serious betting when you have an emotional attachment to either team, or to a particular player for an individual sport.

I should have someone take my blood pressure at various points throughout the game. It wouldn't be pretty.

I will have to go back and re-watch the first NDSU game this year, but if my memory is fairly accurate, what I remember was the Griz loading the box in the second half daring the Bison to throw. The Bison only were able to put 7 points on the board in the second half and the Griz held the running game pretty much in check. If it wasn't for Wentz getting quite a few yards, we did a good job of managing against the NDSU run game. I understand that their freshman QB is maybe even a better runner, but not quite as accurate of a passer. My guess is that we load up the box again and ask the secondary to hold their own.
Go Griz!

Not sure how many times the Griz have been playoff dogs, but I guarantee their record is stellar to cover the spread. That FACT alone should take the emotion out of it. Based on nothing more than statistics you've got a very good chance to make money with that sized spread.

a known site says 15 http://www.5dimes.eu/livelines/livelines.aspx#al_16 I saw some site +5.5 where a real site had griz+3 vs sdsu I believe 15 at a site you can actually bet on

good points.......wish we had KVA to spy on their QB this would even out those odds and force them to pass more often.

We will have Gamboa for this game. He missed the 1st one. He or Kose will spy....

good....taking one player out to spy 100% on this guy is a chance, but the payoff could be huge if it works...i would like our chances hearing what this guy could do to us if not......... making big yards on first down, making 3rd downs, adding to their TOP.....lets take this away from at least him.

The spread is more a statement on the rabid Bison fans that put money down in droves on their team. I wouldn't take it personally.

NDSU is just as scary as they were in August and if the Griz can go into the Shed and win I will be just as surprised and elated as I was then.

That said, 17 feels crazy high. I'll say that comes down before game time.

I'm pretty sure the kittens have a QB (that will only play for a certain coach) that was pretty shifty with the feet. we did OK against them. now I'm not comparing the two teams, no sir, just stating that we have improved against running QB toward the end. hopefully even with a better runner and (reported) worse passing QB, the stack the box option could help out. I need to find my previous score prediction for the first game...seemed to work last time.

Yes it was. I checked numerous websites and not one had the line posted for the Montana/NDSU playoff game.
If anybody does find the real spread please share.

Wasn't that the exact line for the first game?
