Griz played another good game beating a Hornet team, or should I say, individuals, who played a lot of one on one. I say team play wins out, and it did.
Good job Griz.
If there was one thing bad I can say about the Griz is the freethrow shooting. Shot 63.4% from the line. At least they shot better in the second half hitting on 72.7% from the line. First half, they shot 52.6% on 10 - 19 freethrows.
Lamar Farr had his best game as a Griz scoring 8 points. I do believe it was his highest scoring night, but what was important was when he scored them. He provided a huge lift both offensively and defensively.
Leading scorers for the Griz:
Matt Dlouhy 16 points on 5 - 11 fg, 2 - 5 3pt, and 4 - 6 ft. Also, had 5 assists, 1 block, and 1 steal.
Matt Martin, 13 points on 4 - 6 fg, 3 - 5 3pt, and 2 - 2 ft. His minutes were cut short due to having problems defending one of Sac States guards. He had 2 early fouls in first half, and picked one up early in second half. A ball rolled off his leg, crossed the center line, Matt followed it letting it go while Krysko was yelling for him to pick it up. Eventually a Sac St player attempted to take it but hit it out of bounds which saved Matt from letting a Sac State player take it and scoring it. Krysko will be talking to him about this sometime soon.
Andrew Strait had another strong game with 13 points on 4 - 6 from the field, 5 - 8 from the freethrow line, and 4 rebounds.
Kevin Criswell scored 10 points on 3 - 6 from the field, and 4 - 6 from the freethrow line.
Kamarr Davis had 9 points on 4 - 9 from the field, 1 - 3 from freethrow line, and 5 rebounds.
For Sac State, Jason Harris scored 26 points. One hot dude from the field. 11 - 17 shooting.
Griz scored 29 points off of Sac State turnovers to Sac states 13 points.
