Griz 2019/2020 Forecast

dang looking at the schedule like that I see us winning all the wins and 4 of the projected losses I think we win. We are going to have a freaking great year. Only one sure loss and maybe a davis loss.

The computer rankings clearly don’t think our offense is the problem. Without very untimely turnovers, they are right. They have us ranked #8 on offense but in the 40s on defense. Scats are ranked 37 on offense and 20 on defense so are ranked higher overall than us. Idaho is in the 30s for both and are ranked ahead of us as well.

I can't tell if your'e serious or not but if so I would offer advice to temper your expectations so you don't have an emotional let down if they don't hit the record you're predicting. Ya I get it, I'm just a stupid CAT troll pissing in your cheerios over here but I'll repeat myself once again. The 2019 griz are going to be very good or perhaps even great in 2019, especially if Sneed stays healthy. I just don't think some of you guys understand just how good some of the teams are on your schedule.

You could easily be 4-4 after 8 games. My prediction is 5-3.

If we finish 5-3 in conference with only a non conference loss to Oregon, then we’re sitting pretty.

I would say 5-3 is probably most likely but I feel there is a really good shot at 6-2 out of the first eight games. Last 4 two wins there with two tossups. So worst case 7-5 best case 10-2 most likely 8-4 to 9-3 record. Of course, looking a the Cat schedule I expect that they will be around the same record as well. It is very likely that the last playoff spot for the Big Sky will be the winner of the Brawl.

I agree, that would likely put you in the playoffs. Not sure why I did the prediction for the first 8 games, when I started the post I was meaning to look at the half way point lol. So regardless, my prediction of 5-3 stands, then you get Sac, PSU, UI, MSU. 7-5 overall.

Whoever said that UI and PSU are gimmies, they aren't. PSU beat you last year at your place and you have to travel there and I promise PSU will be better. griz literally don't have any gimmies on the schedule.

The one thing Montana has not only continuity in the coaching staff but a veteran staff as well. I think 6-2 after the first 8 games with losses to Davis and Oregon. Another possible loss to weber puts us at 9-3. The only piece that’s missing is a big defensive tackle and I’m quite sure Baer is aware of it. This team is going to surprise a lot of people....

We beat Weber, 10-2.

We blew out Idaho in Moscow last year; I like our chances in Missoula with a far better team.

Right now we are still undefeated, we play the games to see who will win. I am optimistic about the Griz as I am every year. Well almost every year. I am leaning to a 8-4 or 9-3 season. The only game I feel we really don't have a chance at is the Oregon game. All the rest we have some sort of chance to win. I may have rose colored glasses but that is because my Griz cup is always half full.

This years team will be better than most expect. 8 wins minimum and that is with a really tough schedule. If healthy - they could be dangerous by the end of the season. Lots and lots of talent and plenty of kids wanting to prove themselves. Huge chip on their shoulder. This year will be a resurgence back to the top tier of the conference.

I'm with you. If the o-line gels and somebody can pressure the QB then this team could be special. So many holes have been addressed. Can't wait to seem them play.

While it’s not often I will give cat fans kudos, this time I will. This Griz team may end up being a top 2 BSC team. They also may be a middle of the road team. It’s undecided and anyone who says different is just plain wrong. We have so much talent. Our talent is up there with any team in this league this year. Will they perform and gel? Unknown. I sure hope so. I think there will be one of the top 3 BSC teams that have a let down year. I expect someone 4-6 will have a huge gain year. Will that be the Griz? Cats? NAU? My bet is the Griz, they have the best of those 3 teams on paper. However when the pads go on and injuries happen...we will see

I was optimistic early on, but with the additions since then, I'm goddamned pumped! I think our Griz could take the 'awe' out of Autzen. :thumb:

That one will be ugly.

Similar to Washington a few years ago. Then onto 8-4 or 7-5 and a spot in the playoffs.

With the BRUTAL schedule we have, 7-5 would be a big time accomplishment and would easily earn a trip to the playoffs based on strength of schedule. Anyone assuming anything beyond that record I fear is getting your hopes up and setting yourself up for disappointment.

There's no way 7-5 in a 12 game schedule gets to the playoffs. If you think that YOU are setting yourself up for disappointment.
