I'm sure glad we had Sneed and not Gresch the last two weeks. I'll tell you that.

Loved GJ and will root for him...but you are so spot on. Dalton’s legs have saved us a ton already. GJ would have been sacked 8 times Saturday

I watched the game again last night. Spent a large part of it thinking the same thing. Sneed's speed and elusiveness kept many, many plays alive to a successful conclusion. I'll apologize up front for the things I said in the past to other posters who've intimated the same about Sneed/Jensen....

GJ led his team in rushing too

I don't necessarily agree with you guys as I'm not sold on DS just yet. DS is mobile but GJ was more mobile than some of you are giving him credit for...plus he was great at choosing the correct read quickly. I've seen flashes of this from DS but I think he has a ways to go before he's anything more than a middle of the pack BSC QB. Is it the line play? probably some of it but a lot of it is on DS too.

Gresch ran for six touchdowns last year and only got sacked ten times. Yes, he would get sacekd more than Sneed but not by as much as some think. The revisionist history seems to be that he was stone footed and never left the pocket like Peyton Manning, but that wasn't really the case. He is gone, I hope he does well enough to not end up anywhere near a school the Griz will have to face the next two years.

Listen, I was a Gresch-lover from the get go...but watching Sneed run on Saturday? No WAY Gresch gets out of many of those jams...

Sure, but there are so many other variables such as would Jensen keep his eyes downfield and get rid of the ball faster? Would he sidestep and use his mobility to keep it alive? Who knows, but I will stand by my statement that to suggest a guy who got sacked ten times all last season would have gotten sacked eight times in one game just seems like a stretch. I am happy with how Sneed has played, so before anyone jumps on that angle, I am just pointing out that we may be over hyping one and under hyping the other. Tougher to compare in my opinion.

This.

He’s going to school elsewhere. New guy is 2-0 & playing better than most could have expected. Wish them both well & let it go.

I disagree. The offensive line would be better and deeper if Stitt were still here, less attrition and changes. Blocking schemes in Stitt’s offense were different, mainly designed for pass blocking. Gresch was not a bad runner when needed. And is release is quick. A few sacks maybe, but the offense would have done fine. Of course the defense would have done different also.

I think that’s a false premise about the o-line (deeper & better). Only one guy (Torres) left because of the coaching change. The others were injuries or concussion related.

That may have played into his leaving; observing the OLmen that graduated.

I think the main reason he left is that he could see that Sneed was better than he was, and that, except for injury, Sneed would start for the next 2 years. I thought Sneed a better qb all along, but Sneed is actually better than I thought he was. He is more accurate than Jensen in the shorter pass range. He is more mobile and elusive. He is a better runner. He is faster. He brings another dimension to the game. We'll see how accurate he is on the longer throws. Hasn't had many yet. The longer one going south by the opposing sideline was perfect.

The o-line wouldn't be better and deeper if Stitt were here. It would probably be about the same.

Sorry you lost me. In what way would the O line be better and deeper? They only lost Torres due to the coaching change that I know of, correct?

I agree with this. Said something after the game that he was just ok...I think he can grow into something good, but think OL or not, he pulls it down too quickly a lot. Given time and a better line, I think he will develop well

Apparently Bobby felt that safety was a bigger recruiting need than offensive line. Time will tell us. Just like it always does. Sometimes the rear view mirror makes objects appear larger than they really are.

Oh come on! It wasn’t even cold OR loud there!

Fullerton College can't be mentioned without bringing up Hal Sherbeck, still revered as the greatest coach in the school's history back when it was Fullerton JC. Hal from Big Sandy lettered in three sports at UM. He passed away in 2014 at the age of 85. He was my high school coach in Missoula during my oh so brief and totally forgettable football career.

You had one of those too?

Mine ended after being knocked unconscious on the field while playing Kalispell. Freshman year, we were up 36-0, so I finally got to play. Sweep around my end (I was a 120 lb third string DE--on the freshman team) and their starting TE clocked me under the chin and knocked me colder than a clam. Don't remember a whole lot after that...woke up to an all-out brawl going on at midfield...never did thank Tom Oie for sticking up for me... :D :D
