Good for him.
Not that I have ever heard. I'd think that any kid who got offered the 37 in the last 30 years probably wanted more than anything to have the chance to wear it.Congratulations to TG! I wonder if any player has ever turned down the #37 jersey because they like the number they already have
Chase Reynolds declined the number.Congratulations to TG! I wonder if any player has ever turned down the #37 jersey because they like the number they already have
Wow, I had never heard that before!Chase Reynolds declined the number.
Dr. Stickum.Sweet, I'll now be expecting Lester Hayes like production at CB this season. Hayes is the greatest NFL 37 ever.
I think you're opening a particularly spicy can of worms for eGriz here lol, but there is no defined criteria other than the current player picks, so if he decides to limit it to players that share his faith and devotion to Christianity, there's nothing saying he can't do that.I may be just a tad bit off base here, but I'm starting to wonder if being a part of the church group on campus that Welnel and Janacaro belonged to is adding, perhaps, another layer to the "traditional requirements" of getting the jersey. Maybe it is just my perspective being skewed, but I find it odd that "god working in their lives" and them being a good Christian has been mentioned in the last two passing ons.
Nothing against Gradney. I think he is tremendous. I just find it odd that we are getting a religious message with it the last two years.
Trying to separate Church and Football may be as successful as separating Church and State, lol. I totally get your sentiment, but this probably isn’t the place to bring up the “god” discussion simply because it will distract from celebrating Gradney.I may be just a tad bit off base here, but I'm starting to wonder if being a part of the church group on campus that Welnel and Janacaro belonged to is adding, perhaps, another layer to the "traditional requirements" of getting the jersey.
