Sortable just like previous weeks. :thumb:

So according to the SRS alone, N Iowa @ 6-5 and Villanova @ 5-5 are ranked higher than the Griz? I would highly doubt that either team makes the playoffs.

Is it my understanding that the playoffs are to be eventually picked and seated by the SRS?

I noticed that a couple weeks ago, apparently SRS is not going to be the end-all that RPI is in basketball, and will probably be one of a few factors.

This season is a test run for the SRS. It has been introduced and indicated that it will be part of the decision making process. We'll see about that after this year's selection committee has some time with this ranking vs the previous GPI.

I like the GPI quite a bit. It averages several CPU rankings and incorporates two human polls. I don't know why they think it needs to change.

I'm curious. I look for the GPI on Tuesday and even receive it in an email note. On CSN's website, it is dated Nov. 11 and Montana is No. 11 still in that most recent GPI. In your list, we've moved up to No. 8. You getting it through twitter or something?

The SRS is an intriguing system, but I still have to stop and go "huh?" sometimes. The current No. 3 SRS non-FBS team is Northwestern Missouri State, a DII team!? Seriously? I guess that's why when you see NDSU No. 24 in the Sagarins, you have to take it with a grain of salt. No way NDSU is better than Notre Dame, Boise State, Texas, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Arizona, Utah, etc.

My understanding of the difference between say the TSN poll and SRS is that the TSN poll reflects past accomplishment, while the SRS is a predictive system that is closer to what Vegas odds makers use to develop point spreads. That's why UCLA is No. 14 and Arizona State is No. 19, but ASU is a 2.5-point favorite at UCLA.

I would guess that the FCS Committee would use a hybrid system that incorporates both accomplishment and predictive success in the playoffs.

I built a spreadsheet where I feed the game results, CPU rankings, and polls - it spits out the SRS and GPI. I was sick of waiting on the updates to be published, so I just started calculating it myself.
