I would appreciate it if you guys would quit calling him Chief I find it very offensive. I don't want to offend people of color the way you guys do so willy nilly around here.

Thanks from Native American

Like Chief Warrant Officer or something. I find that offensive too.

I'm sure no one means Chief-of-the-Douchbags, cause that would be insensitive to the real chief, Alpha DB-1. I'm thinking more like Chief of Police. Enforcing the Law on Saturday Afternoons. Hell of a performance and well deserved recognition to "Chief". Aggressive and in your face all day!

14 passes defended with 12 breakups thus far on the season...closest other griz are Dennard and Tripp with 3 passes defended each.

YITB

When I was in the Military I found it pretty offensive as well so would never listen to anyone with the title chief. Chief Master Sergeant, Crew Chief, Flight Chief etc.... Made for a pretty rough 8 years for me though.

I posted on here pre-season that the coaches thought that if Anthony Goodwin kept playing like he was in camp that he would be one of the best corners in the nation.

Well............he just proved he is the best! That is a national season record this year my friends! And it was against a tall (giant 6'6"), speedy WR that could jump and catch. What else is there??? I am shocked that WR is not at some big-time FBS school.

Big time congratulations are in order.

That WR was one of PSU's many FBS transfers....came from Fresno State.

For a transfer WR that's played at the FBS level he sure lacked any sort of physical presence on the field. Yeah he was tall but he would never fight for contested passes, never try to initiate contact with a corner, let guys get around him to knock the ball down.

No wonder he transferred, and he was out matched even at the FCS level, granted against a pretty good corner.

My thinking as well...not a very disciplined WR. If he ever learned to use his size to his advantage he'd be unstoppable..

He bitched at the refs after every single ball he didn't catch, too.

He made a couple really nice grabs against Cal Poly the week before including a tightrope catch on the sidelines a la Cris Carter, didn't see much of that athleticism this week. Looking at him reminds me of another big receiver who shall not be named who destroyed the Griz secondary in kind of a big game, but he had a "my ball" attitude on every throw, Dean doesn't appear to.
