Good Luck, Kittens

The bobcats this year are a funny team. I actually think some of the defenses they have had in the past were better or at least more smothering. This defense just executes, they are very well coached and they are smart as well as having talent. Their offense has a lot of weapons but their O-line is the worst in the BSC imo. Their O-coordinator is a frickin' genius to be able to mask their obvious weak o-line. I don't think Ash is all that great but he knows how to surround himself with very good assistants. They will be tough for years to come
The griz have talent but I am very worried that they will be able to maintain it. A couple years of bad recruiting will really put us behind the eight ball. I like coach Mick and am grateful we had him but we need someone to step up in the administration and get us a permanent solution.

Why is that? Are you a cat fan? Griz are still the Griz and will be back next year. Do you realize that there were only 3 seniors on the field against the cats?? The Griz were a few breaks and a QB away from playing tonight. Why so negative?

Wow, just wow!! The Cat game was fine, I'm worried about the 660 North Dakota Tech put up on the same secondary that is returning next year. Come back to reality, Hammer.... :coffee:

I sure hope they get better, but 660 is a disapointing number.

With the whole winter to play Madden, we have to improve, right?

Go Cats!! Root for a team from Long Island over one from Montana? You gotta be kidding.

Plus, a really strong showing by Big Sky teams in the playoffs means more respect for all Big Sky teams which could result in better rankings and better seeding for Big Sky teams in future playoffs.

So, sure, go ahead and root against the Cats, but . . . seems senseless to me.

Houston, we have a problem...
The reason against rooting for the cats is that it is senseless and counterproductive, as the more success they have, the more they can expect to have in the future(better recruits/coaches). You're either a Griz or a cat. Make up your mind.

No shit. Like Bobby H said you can't ride the fence your either Griz or Cat. Get off the fence and make up your mind!

I remember being at a NC party when the Griz were playing in Richmond. A friend of mine "a Cat fan" was at the party. I asked if he was rooting for the Griz - he said "hell no". Completely respect him and thought his sentiments were appropriate. I like Montana kids - the University of Montana kids. Sorry Cats - I am rooting against you.

The Griz-cat thing is something a native Montanan has spent his life learning and reinforcing through experience. Kind of like the Alabama-Auburn thing. The cat fans, for the most part, seem to have mastered the concept. Those unaware of the nature of this phenomenon can be educated, and therefore, come up to speed on the issue. But, there are those incapable of grasping this concept, and will continue posting their kumbaya.

"Ignorance vs Stupidity

The intrinsic difference is that ignorance simply implies lack of awareness about something, while stupidity denotes the inability of a person to understand something due to insufficient intelligence, thus leading to the misinterpretation of a fact."

I am certainly a griz and I wholeheartedly disagree.

I can think of only one analogy and you probably wont understand. It's like being from Butte and kicking someones teeth down their throat that is from Anaconda but when you leave the state the Anaconda boys are like brothers to me especially in a place like Texas.[/quote]

AMEN!

I know it is not the players fault but it makes it hard to root for a team when you walk into a bar and their fans do their endearing little chant .... F%*# the Griz and they are not even playing them.

Over the the weekend (I was at a HS wrestling tournament wearing my Cat hat) some guy I didn't even, know asked when the Cats were playing, a friend said "tonight at 5:00"; I said "but the griz are not playing" we all laughed :thumb:

FTG

Oh, I probably won't actually be rooting FOR Sam Houston ... I will simply be rooting against the Cats. As my t-shirt says, "Besides the Griz, my favorite team is whoever's playing the Cats."

I have a shirt that says "Once a Griz always a Griz, once a cat always a pussy"

It's a real hoot.

Used to be able to buy decent t-shirts both schools bookstores. I was looking for something unique when I asked one of the staff at the UM Bookstore, many years ago, where the good stuff was. I was told that both UM and MSU agreed to discontinue any negative(read entertaining)designs/wording out of 'respect' for the other school(or whatever words were actually used to convey this general meaning). A lame attempt to water down the mutual feelings fans of each school have for each other. Now we have t-shirt shops which provide the needed comic relief. Like prohibition on a little scale.

**Hammer, WHERE did you get such a classed t-shirt? I gotta go there!

I once saw a cat fan in a bar with a blue and gold t shirt that read " The Cats may suck but the Griz swallow." I used to cheer for the Cats until I attended a Griz Cat game in Bozo. After that STC never again will I cheer for them.
Funny thing this Friday we get southern Texans playing Eustis High School Montana Campus.
