My point is that without the Euless players suited up the cats wouldn't not have risen to the ranks of co champions of the conference. Co champions? When was the last time MSEuless won the conference outright? 1984? maybe that is another reason it is pasted on the playing surface at the litter box.
Oh ya and I actually like the current MSU program but still refuse to cheer for them based on my experience in Bozo and a few rectal opening cat posters on E Griz and other Girz Cat Boards.

You just sound petty at this point.

Well first thats a pretty unknown hypothetical, what players might we have had if we didn't have the Euless players, What if we picked a few of your better recruits and said that you probably wouldn't have won a game this year without them

second; the reason 1984 is on the field is because the 1984 team raised money over the years and had it set aside, when the need for turf came up the provided the majority of the money for the project and raised additional funds for most of the remainder, It was only fitting to commemorate their contribution to the turf in that way. It kind of like saying, Why is your stadium named Washington grizzlie stadium.

Griz (boars) visit every 2 years, and as such, need a place to wallow.

I watched the Cats in 3 games this year, including the Brawl. I watched the Griz in every game.

I felt the Griz had one of the best front seven on D in the BS this year and one of the weakest (at least for the vast majority of the year) secondaries. The Griz also had one of the top offensive lines. Receivers were average and uneven, though our deficiency at quarterback the entire year made it difficult to tell whether receivers were a plus or minus.

Griz running backs were above average and I would take Nguyen over Kirk every time. Both are quality backs with a somewhat different style - Nguyen is shifty and capable of quick bursts after those shifts - Kirk has more power and decent speed to and through the line. But for my taste, and it's just personal, I'll take Nguyen every time.

The Cats are an extremely well coached team with a superior overall D and decent balance on O with an above average passing and running quarterback (quarterback play and kicking game were the real keys to the Brawl win). And the way they play (I kind of hate to say it) reminds me of most of our successful Griz teams of the past. They find a way to win, not a way to lose. It may not always be pretty or by a large margin, but this year they have consistently found a way to get the job done.

That being said, I am not yet convinced the Cats are FCS championship caliber. The next few weeks will tell.

I know full well the 1984 is all about the donation made by the 1984 team but that raises a real question. Cat fans are all over the blogs bragging about how well their grads do and how much money they make. If that is the case. why did it take the class of 84 24 years to save up enough money to install the artificial turf?
Talks cheap I guess.

That whole fancy, polished,"big show", XFL ish spectacle you guys have going on there is your gig. We're more of a blue collar, muddy boots, pbr and Coors drinking, carhart wearing, rough edge deal. Not too concerned with a little mud.

I don't have any issues with the tailgating at Bobcat Stadium. I've had a good time there many, many times. You are pretty LAME, if you can't have fun at ANY tailgate, whether it's the NFL, Missoula, Bozeman or the NAIA. But Cat fans who constantly make fun of the Griz tailgates, as I see alot of that on BN, are either complete liars or they just can't stand to say anything good about Montana. Because the fact is, the Griz' tailgate section is pretty nice, and EVERY other visiting team's fans the Griz have ever played has had nothing but amazing things to say about it. It's a pretty cool setting to have beers and food before a football game and the Cat fans that say stupid crap about it on BN are just doing it because they hate all things Griz, not because they really believe what they are actually saying.

  You are such a dip wad, just looking for attention, I will give you that UM rushing game was better that MSU is but it isnt because Nguyen was so good, it was because of your OL.

as far as rush D statistically you finished the regular season marginally better, but MSU didn't play the patsy's like ISU and WSU that um did so the reality is that MSU's run D is better than um's was

I agree that UM's o-line was considerably better than MSU's, but Nguyen is also a better back than Kirk.

MSU played Chadron, Drake and SFA, 3 weak running teams, which gained 214 yards total against MSU. Yes, UM played ISU, but MSU played 3 horrible running teams. Get out of here with your dumb comments.

While MSU beat the Griz, and are still in the playoffs, the fact remains that UM's running offense and rushing defense (and d-line and linebackers) are better than MSU's. I told you UM would run on the MSU, and UM would shut down the MSU running game, before the game--and I was correct. Again, too bad Nguyen broke his thumb in the first half, and wasn't able to play much after that.

Are you seriously trying to argue that your 5-6 team that got beat by the Cats at your place is better than the Cats

No, I have no argued that, or tried to argue that. But since you asked, yes, I believe the Griz were better team than the Cats, and would have gone further in the playoffs. However, the Griz couldn't finish or get it done, so the Cats won and moved into the playoffs.

Holy shit. That just happened. So not only do the Griz have the better running backs, D line, AND linebackers... ( you are 0 fer 3 there), but now you have the better team too? Yet even with your 14 point home field advantage we still beat you by 9? I guess your stance really shouldn't surprise me considering you also believe Griz football players never break the law! Are you drunk or something?

naw actually you are just new to this whole playoff thing and haven't quite figured it out yet. You don't storm the field after a 2nd round game either but don't worry you will get better at it after a few years.

BTW there is two T's in Carhartt. This coming from somebody that wears them daily.

You are so busy digging up stats to try and help you salvage a poor season, dishing out backhanded compliments, and trying to assuage very legitimate concerns that other Griz fans have about the future of the UM football program that you can't even keep your own thoughts straight.

You are lucky that Nguyen broke his thumb in the 3rd quarter, or he would have continued to run past your team.

I suppose that soon we will find out from a "reliable source" that Nguyen actually broke his thumb before the game and is the greatest RB UM has ever had, stats be damned. Nguyen was a good RB, had trouble holding onto the ball throughout is career, whether on fumbles or muffed punts, and that is that. He wasn't a great RB. UM has a massive OL which creates large holes and that has been the case for a long time.

As for you thinking UM had a better DL than MSU, that is simply not true. I suppose now you will try and find some stats to prove they were.

Can you admit that Nguyen was better than Kirk in the game, and UM's running game was better than the Cats running game? Or will you just slink away and pretend you didn't see this post?

He will admit that if you admit you guys had to put 8-9 in the box to stop our run? Then Floeketer eats you up in the middle :) Pick your poison. The Cats basically contained your run for the most part (one long run) with our basic defensive set. You would think with the Griz stud LB's you wouldn't have needed to stack the line like you did to stop our run. 2 extra guys in the gap sure helps (Kirk isn't superman you know).

The Cats did what they had to win the game. That is one thing I like about this team. It isn't about stats. Everyone knew the Griz would take the Sac State game plan and put 8-9 in the box. I would have too, but then your talking about the UM weak secondary being exposed to.

I had a good time at my only tailgate event in Missoula a few years ago, until a bunch of kids stole all the beer and food sometime during the second half. I needed to drown my sorrows and when me and my hosts went back out, everything was gone!!!
