Good Bad Ugly - USD

Question...my feed was stupid at times, so didn’t pay attention...I complained about run game performance as have many on here, but were the starting o-line guys same as the depth chart? And if so, thoughts on if that big JUCO stud will help out?

Looked like at right guard the "or" was utilized and the JC did not play with offense that I saw.

Historically, we have usually played a cupcake on the first game, in order to fine tune all the parts. Today, they went into a competent foe and delivered the goods. Yes, it would be better if we could run the ball, but as someone else said above, the MVFC is designed for the run, both offense and defense. The ability of the Griz to exploit those short throws meant that there was not the advantage USD should have had.
Overall, I'm impressed and looking forward to next week.

I think last 5 openers were UNI, Valparaiso, St Francis, The Curd Herders and Wyo? (I think?) So not a lot of cupcakes there but yes we often play a lesser opponent before conference play.

egriz, I am sorry for my poor grammatical use of the plural version of some of the words that were used in my earlier post. I would hope that my apology would, perhaps, help you to look beyond the grammatical errors and see the intended context of the feelings that, as a human, I possess. I do realize that, while my opinion is subjective, that my errors in grammar might make my opinions become misconstrued. But, I would pray that they might be taken in the spirit of a true University of Montana Grizzly Football fan and, as such, you would not hold it against me in the future. I have never played the game and I am misleading and wrong.

That's a good start. I'll take it to the committee for further consideration.

Agree. Montana put together a solid game plan against a worthy opponent this year. I’d rather see this type of win vs a win against hapless Western Colorado or Colorado school of stitts

Bad: End Zone INT's and missed field goals
Where do you get the plural? There was one EZ Int and one missed FG. The other int was in the middle of the field and was inconsequential as it was 3rd down and was long enough to be as good as a punt. The made FG was 43 yd and very well struck.

Relax.

How about this....F U, and all of your (who the eff let this guy decide he could judge anything) committee kiss my opinion. I didn't realize that as an alum, I was not allowed to have an opinion that was not in line with whoever the eff playerrep is. If you are the grammar police of the website, I would have loved to have known that in the TOU. I didn't see that and my bad for not seeing it.

PlayerRep, thank you for making this a site that is open and welcome to all.

Nice to see the Grid takes lead and hold it through the 4th quarter. Last year we squandered leads in the 4th away. With UCD and handful of others.

I knew exactly what you meant, obviously tying it to problems we had last year. Not a big deal and really not worth it. You could give someone 4 $5 bills and they’d bitch that you didn’t give them a 20.

Just don’t let it happen again ‘40!

It was very obvious to me that the combination of the new weight room, the JC transfers, the year of experience, and most importantly the off-season words of our coaches made the o-line much improved. If you don't think so, you are an idiot, have never played the game, and don't have access to the sources I do.

Thank GOD for Bob Stitts receivers

Solid, thanks for adding it.
Yeah, because prior to Bob Stitt we had shitty receivers...amiright?

Yeah thank God Stitt left.........and our receivers got to learn from a real coach ! .

Or at least a coach that found a way to get them the ball consistently by keeping the QB upright.

Another good: There were several true freshmen and redshirt freshmen who got some good playing time today. I remember seeing Mamula, Roberts and Walker, and there are probably others I missed. The future looks bright.

I know...I am just bad at typing and/or have been thinking of last year and this year at the same time. It is awesome when grammar becomes the sticking point and one is acceptable as opposed to many huh?
