Ugly- Our lame crowd until 3 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. It was embarrassing. UNI OL players were pumping up the crowd mocking all the fans still gone

Interestingly, at that point it was still 26-0. It was RIIIIIIGHT after that they scored and then scored and scored again...

Drop by Curran and the missed tackle on the shovel pass were the 2 biggest mistakes IMO.

:agree:

Although I'd put JLM's decision to field a punt at the 6 and Flowers' decision to kick the ball out of bounds at the 5 right up there as well...starting deeeeeeeep in UNI territory did NOT help or cause.

Agree with Flowers...but, personally I don't think they should try to (over) coach JLM too much. He will make some mistakes, but I hope they leave him unleashed to freelance.

I think it's a big deal to be honest. Did you hear the skyline podcast where they were quoting Baldwin who said EWU would never take the ball first at WaGriz. They didn't want to face the crowd in the 1st quarter and knew it would always be quiet in the 3rd.

For the most part I'd say yes to the 2nd part of your sentence....but, given the circumstances he's gotta be aware....ball is over your head, you're running at an angle backwards towards the goal line when you catch it, coverage was really good on that particular punt, momentum was NOT towards upfield....should have probably followed the old standard of putting his heels on the 10 and letting anything over his head go (hopefully) into the end zone...honestly it couldn't have ended up much worse than it did (unless he'd have fumbled :? ).

I think that any team who knowingly takes the ball first is doing themselves NO favors. Baldwin was smart like that. I wish it wasn't the way it is at Montana, but there's not a whole lot that I can do to change it, so....

Not trying to argue here, but almost all coaches defer to the second half if they win the coin toss. Not only in Wa Griz.
