Good, Bad, Ugly - Sac St

How many times did the SSU Defense get a penalty, giving the Griz a first down when they were about to go three and out? Ten penalties, until I stopped counting. They need at least an Honorable Mention in the BSC 'Players of the Week Awards.'

Here's the box score. Sac St beat themselves.

The hit was clean. If that had been called on us, the board would be filled with comments about poor officiating. The defense is horrible, and Loud will have no impact. We made their QB look like the best passing QB in the country. How many times was our defense standing looking at the sidelines while Sac was snapping the ball? Without Wortham, this team would struggle to be 4-4. Maybe we should hire Best to help develop players. The call on 4th-and-one to have Wortham throw to Ah Yat was one of the worst O calls in Montana history. The O-line was owned again, and Eli takes way too many negative plays. And what's up with Wortham conditioning? He returns a kick and then has to take the next two plays off.
pathetic troll and not good at it at all. your posts suck

That was about as negative as a post can be!. Why do you even follow the Griz if they cause you so much pain?

Bad: Those mother effing announcers. Holy CHRIST they seemed like they were Sac’s home field announcers! So freaking homer it was just cringe. I finally had to mute the game and just watch.

Lol.

Yeah take away our best player and we’d struggle. Gee…that might describe EVERY OTHER FUCKING TEAM in the country. Way to go out on a limb.

Defense played 26 minutes of shutout football until the game was well in hand. Final four minutes don’t mean shit. We outscored them 42-14 after their initial score, and one of those was a fucking gift where our defender literally fell down.

He wasn't concerned enough to have someone cover him.
On his longest play, our very good defender fell down. That was 63 yards. That was the only passing TD of SS. He's actually run a 10.02. Transferred from Texas A&M. He's little, but he's a burner. The fastest guy the Griz have ever played against. He's 5th in conference in receiving and averages 23 yards per catch. He was 4th in FCS coming into the game in averages per catch.

"Prior to Sacramento State
  • Redshirted at Texas A&M in 2024.
  • Played on special teams in the win over McNeese.
  • Also ran track for the Aggies where he competed in the 100, 200 and 4x100.
  • Earned honorable mention All-America honors after placing 22nd in the 100 at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
  • Fastest 100 was 10.02 at the NCAA West First Round meet in College Station, Texas."

Here's the answer. The Griz got 1 first down by penalty. It's in the stats.

Good: Griz are all class
Bad: hornets are a very poorly coached undisciplined team
Ugly: It takes more than money to have a quality football team
The key term is team.
Bobby H has assembled a team that all works together. Our halftime adjustments are incredible and we need to recognize the coaching staff's part in those.

The portal players and those that have been brought up in the program all seem focused more on the team winning and celebrate any player that helps in that goal.

I think that the turning point in the game was the SS kickoff touchdown that was called back. The Griz seemed to be inspired by that great break. GO GRIZ!

Good: 44 continuing to hustle downfield and get just enough of the final defender chasing after Wortham to allow Wortham to for sure score on the play.

Bad: 830pm mdt start time for the game, main announcer SCREAMING into the mic multiple times while calling the game.

Ugly: 45 launching and aiming high (and probably a smidgen late) on KAY and the commentators being absolutely baffled why a penalty was called. Did they not know you can’t launch yourself and hit a QB high and late??

I saw 44's block downfield. That was a nice play and just enough, and it was way down field. Good shout out.

I was listening to the game, so I got the benefit of a nine second heads up to watch first hand, then, replay after replay. Even Riley Corcoran said it was just good, old fashioned, hardnosed football. A legal hit. If the 'Voice of the Grizzlies' won't call for 45's head...
Its not like the 'hit squad' execution of the Griz QB a few years ago by whatshisname from SSU, the drop down transfer. That one will live on in Griz history. I wonder if that idiot even completed his Bachelor's Degree, or if he's selling used cars in rural Texas. Maybe, breaking legs for the Mafia. 'Yo, NBA hot shot, c'mere, you got a debt to pay.'
