Good, Bad, Ugly - Bobcats

I said nothing about whether Jones was good or bad based on backing out one long run. I just showed the stat. I found your Gillman stat to be interesting. Why is it so hard for some of you to read what I say? Why do you have to attack things I didn’t say?
Your stance was that the Griz run defense was better than it appeared because without the long run, they did fine.

Using that same logic, one can reasonably infer that you believe the Griz running game, and their RB’s, haven’t been as good as they statistically appear because they’ve been bolstered by long runs.

I’m just using your argument.

No, I didn't say that, to my recollection. If you want to show me the quote, then I may change my mind. I'd be willing to wager on this.

I said this in my first post in Good, Bad, Ugly

"Good:

D played fairly well. D let Cats get a bit too many running yards, but held Cats to under their season averages of points and TO. 34 points (41), 20 first downs (23), 6.3 per rush (7.0), 420 of TO (502.5), 6-12 on 3d down conversion (55.2), 6.6 per play (7.6)."

"Bad:

Giving up two 35 yard either good or lucky passes. Giving up the 88 yard run.

Hooked said this:

"HookedonGriz said:
Good:
- the defense actually held its own through a lot of the game. They got a number of big 3rd and short stops and played physical all game. Outside of that long 88 yard run, they kept the cats run game somewhat in check. Without that long one, the cats end up with 240 yards rushing….which is unheard of for that team.”

Then, I said this: "Hooked didn't say the Cats had only 240 yards of rushing. He said that they had 240 yards without the long run. What's wrong with saying that? And, without that long run, the other 24 rushes averaged 4.5. To me, that's interesting information to know."

You are trying to fight things that I didn't say or even imply. Try sticking to the facts and what I said.

Good. Was happy with the D. I know the argument of "if you don't count Jones' long run" however, the Cats ran it 50 times. W/O that run they were less than 5 ypc when they averaged almost 8 all season, I would not have bet that before the game. Made the Cats punt 6 times

Bad- Offense. O-Line was not good and not giving it to Gilman more is a waste (is he hurt). The Cat D reminded me of last year's Griz D, physical and fast. How many throws laterally and behind the line were called? I realize the coach can call a play and the QB not getting to the right guy, but why was Bergan, Fontes and Grossman running 3-yard curl plays?

Ugly - injuries. Hated to see Fontes go down, looked bad

- the defense did a great job with Mellott rushing….he had 50 yards on 10 carries with a long for 12. That’s really damn impressive when it comes to Tommy individually
- they only gave up 95 yards passing on 6/12 from Tommy
- thought Ostmo was the only bright spot on offense, he ran hard and I’m surprised we didn’t use him more (I believe he got dinged up)
- the Racanelli catch on the two point conversion was impressive. Glad he will be back next season.
- no turnovers

Bad:
- too many costly penalties
- abysmal offensive game plan and play calling by Pease (I can’t recall one shot down the field, everything was sideline to sideline against a fast, physical defense)
- Wilson dropping what would have more than likely been a pick 6 to change some momentum
- losing Fontes probably for the rest of the season to injury
- O Line gave Fife zero time to throw the ball around. It was constant pressure

Ugly:
- the MSU staff dropping the 300 pound trophy on the turf when carting it out

Feel free to add…..
I'm only to the bottom of this page on this thread so don't know if this has been answered but I do remember 2 downfield passes. At least. There was the blown off course pass and then there was a pass the other direction that should've been caught by whoever it was to, but it was dropped. It was while the griz were going towards the south endzone.

Ugly but typical Cat class. The "Hawk Tuah" shirts.....look it up. Now that they are a #1 seed you'd think they'd act like they belong there.
How is this different than the griz fan dude I saw walking around with a tshirt that said something about "pounding pussy since". If you want to call out the Hauck Tua and spit on that thing, it goes both ways with both fan bases.

One passes the Trump said it test and talks about when the guy lost his virginity. The other seems to specifically call out Hauck and Trump couldn't get elected saying it publicly!

That's how they're different.
