Gillman- BSky POW

On just 14 carries. Now imagine his impact if he actually got the workload (20-25 touches per game) that he deserves as the clear #1 RB. Maybe the staff is playing the long game here and doing their best to keep him fresh and healthy for a playoff run, but I just don't understand why he isn't getting the ball much more.

I have said for two years now Gillman should have 20-35 touches per game. I get the same story from everyone when I say this. You have to spread the ball around to keep everyone happy or they will leave. This day and age of NIL ruins lots of great players! IMO.

They don’t want to overuse him or wear him out. And Ostmo is very good and better at getting tough yards.

25 - 35 carries would ruin Gillman too.
Remember the old days when we had the lead in the fourth quarter, all you would get was runs by Chase Reynolds or Lex Hilliard? Run the ball. I disagree that 25-35 carries a game would ruin Gillman! He is a very good runner and a strong kid. However, if the Oline isn't very good, it could ruin anyone at RB position. I like our Oline this year and I would love more touches for Gillman.

Am I the one that I thinks the playing time/carries are more bigger picture? Meaning saving his body for the post-game.

We have THREE backs now that can do that.
Beginning at 0:21 of 3rd quarter:
Ostmo rush for 5
Ostmo rush for 5
Fife incomplete
Ostmo rush for 15
Ostmo rush for 0
Ostmo rush for 16
Ostmo rush for 1
Fife incomplete
Fife rush for 1
FG

Gillman rush for 4
Fife complete
Gillman rush for 3
Fife complete
Fife complete
Bergen incomplete
Gillman rush for 5
Fife complete
Fife incomplete
Fife complete
Fife complete
Fife complete
Ostmo rush for 4
Fife rush for -6
Ostmo rush for 12 (TD)

13 rushing plays 11 passing plays (mostly because we got behind the sticks with the penalty that made it 2nd & 15 and 4th & 4...once the pass to Bergen was completed for the 1st down we didn't pass again.

We ran the ball 48 times (55/45% split)...Gillman is just too efficient!

IMHO, that picture is one of the best, if not THE BEST, football pictures I have ever seen. It was even better watching the whole thing live !!!!!!!!!

I think you might get arrested today if you give a RB 35 touches per game. It's a brutal position. The staff is handling it just fine considering the drop off from RB1 to RB4 isn't all that great.

Gillman got his 2nd and 3rd runs down 17 - 0 in the 2nd quarter. Then right after those two plays it was 17 - 6. Huh?

The 'Tommy Mellot Theory of Back Use'? Made infamous by MSdUi.

The only one thing I wish they would do different with Gillman is to leave him in the next series after he breaks a long TD run. Don't take him out. 2 or 3 times already I've seen him break long runs and score and then when we get back on the field for the next series they take him out. You want to ride that guy when he's hot, don't take him out.

There's no reason he shouldn't get 20 touches a game. He could smash records if the staff used him correctly. I love Ostmo and his dedication to the team but, in no way should he get as much touches as he does. He's a good short yardage RB for the most part. Gillman should get at least 80% of the carries.
