GFP recording tomorrow - season wrap up

First of two planned GFP's. This first one will be our usual season ending pod therapy session, season reflection, etc. We'll share plenty of thoughts on the game. Then in January we're planning a more broad thought and look ahead discussion on everything Griz Football there.

If you guys have questions or comments - hit us up here.

1) Are the sugarcoaters, like Brint, a contributing factor to UM football becoming overshadowed by MSU football?
2) How did the Cat's defense dominate the Griz offense after losing the Big Sky D MVP for the whole game?

Hopefully not coming off as a "knee jerk" reaction but Data doesnt lie:

1) The lack of success under Haslam, since his hiring we have only won 5 total Big Sky Titles in 13 years (assuming we won't win the Big Sky after losing to MT-Tech in Basketball) giving us a 19.23% success/win rate overall in revenue generating sports. All of this as one of the top 2 Schools in the Conference in terms of fans, $$, support, facilities etc.

Add in we're now behind MSU in every category on and off the Football field, what are the arguments to keep him?

Could you guys do a deep dive of the pod, with some self awareness? Some things to analyze:

Your perception of the Bobcats, saying stuff like only won because if lucky bounces, griz are more talented etc. all things just not true.

Your infatuation with Bobby. Bobby 2.0 is the best thing that ever happened to MSU. He is 2-6 and Cats are 8-2 in the last 10. That is total domination. The game has passed Bobby by. Why do you worship him so much?

Expand on why MSU is dominating UM ‘in every measurable way.’ Obviously athletics, academics, enrollment, recruiting, is there any fix for UM?

Maybe just look at the Griz using facts and reality vice rose colored glasses, self awareness is the only way to get better and it seems like the pod and UM as a whole is lacking that.

1) Is the secret to enjoying seasons like this just acknowledging that the cats will beat us every year now? This was a really difficult season to enjoy. I hear everyone else talk about how much fun they had, but honestly, this team felt like a paper tiger propped up by playing 8 home games, with a constant nagging feeling that all the shenanigans were going to bite us in the butt come the Third Saturday in November. I had a great time when family came to town, enjoyed the tailgates, and celebrated the touchdowns, but because of the performance against the Cats the last decade, and very little postseason success to speak of in the same time frame, that nagging sense of inevitable failure just leaves a bad taste on game days.

2) When you reference “tough conversations” in your substack piece, can you expand on that more? What tough conversations? With whom? About what? Because the tenor of the piece doesn’t seem to say firing either Hauck or Haslam is the answer. If not about our leadership’s future, then what is there to discuss?

Yeah I can literally hear Mike reading this question..." some guy asking blah blah blah" and then scoffing.

I want to know your thoughts on Cat fans downloading some jukebox app where you can pick songs remotely, and playing Mony Mony randomly in bars around Missoula over the weekend. High level trolling or rubbing it in too much?

Also, if Sample still wrote for the Chronicle today, how much would he hurt inside having to write an article on this game?

Listening to last week's pod right now as I type this. Can you explain your issue with the visitor tunnel at Bobcat Stadium when the WA/griz stadium has the visitor tunnel coming out the same way, albeit not in the student section. The one in Bozeman is at least covered until you get to the field. The one in Missoula is not.

First of all, thank you all for what you do, it means more to many of us than you can imagine and the personal sacrifice is probably more than any of us understand.

This may be more of a statement than a question, but please discuss anyway. Saturday was necessary, and the cats winning in a few weeks is even more necessary for this program to make the changes necessary. For 15 years it’s been too easy to say it was good, but the Dakota states are juggernauts. We haven’t had a line, offense or defense since 09-12ish that was intimidating in the necessary way. Hard conversations need to be had and decisions made. From the president of the university to the fans, get on the bus or get the fuck out. Unfortunately a lot of this will fall upon us fans, I will be joining the qb club this upcoming year, which for what I pay myself, is economic malpractice. The plan is laid out, obvious and easy to follow if people can get over their ego.

Honest question. Where was Griz Nations (Mike calling for the crush, Kyle looking for restaurants in Nashville) optimism after game 1 wrong? What was being missed on the Cats side of game 1 that could have been blinding you to the outcome of game 2?

Also, Sample was looking for things to do in Nashville on the last pod. Can he help me out with a list so I have some ideas of what to do?

They were putting to much weight in the Cats in their two playoff games having hard fought games for 4 quarters against the griz scoring 105 in their two. Cats played against 10 all americans in their two games while the griz played against 4. And then assuming having Loud back would make a drastic difference. Also going by the "lucky" plays(blocked FG and pick 6) that gave them the thought they were lucky to win.

Read this on the pod:
This loss stung as much as it did, not because it was to the Cats for the second time this year, but griz nation was overly confident in the assumed outcome. Everyone saw the cakewalk the griz had against the SD teams and thought it was a given the griz would win. Yes it was the first time meeting in the playoffs and that was a big deal. But I think all of you assumed you were going to Nashville.

I realize I'm a Cat fan which means there's a good likelihood that you don't read any of my questions but I have one more for you to spit around and talk about and I'm genuinely curious your thoughts.

Which loss stung more. The one that ended the streak or this one? I was at both games and I honestly can't say which one for myself but of course the opposite way.

I agree, they do that all the time. I asked a question last week, and sugarcoater Brint said I was a troll and they didn't answer it. I lease a box in the stadium, or more precisely, my company does, but I'm a troll. If you want more insights into the program, listen to Schmidt.

If they want to make some good money on monetizing a great podcast they need to get Andrew back on while the sting is fresh in everyone's memory. They would get tons of listens and more money for all the downloads that would happen!

Ok, I thought the convo in another thread was constructive, but now you are starting to be an asshat. Maybe take a break and go back over to your site for a while.

Is the Bobby fatigue felt by many Griz fans the result of a tough loss or is this an inflection point with Bobby’s behavior with the media, insisting on the 3-3-5, line play and failures in in-state recruiting?
