Tokyo, would you please post your home address so we could all come over to discuss this matter?

I have sent a similiar letter demanding Royce give a honest explanation to the people of Montana.
Royce Engstrom
Office of the President. The University of Montana. University Hall, Room 109. Missoula, MT 59812.
Phone: (406) 243-2311
E-mail: [email protected].
Home Address: 1325 Gerald Avenue. Missoula, MT 59801
If you really want to pressure this man to be honest then do the same. The state representatives will care if they get enough letters.

If you can find my address online and want to come over to discuss things feel free. Kids nap in afternoon though thanks.
Again I do recommend sending state senators and reps requests for Engstrom to be honest and forthright in this firing and tell us the people of Montana and alumns of Um why this has been done.

What information do you have that suggests that Engstrom WRONGFULLY fired Pflu and O'Day?

FU Royce.
FIRE ROYCE and enough of the god damn witch hunt people. UM didnt cause these issues rape, etc is the fault of AMERICAN society and we all hold the blame.
Sincerely eat shit Royce. I look forward to UM getting the holy living shit sued out of them for wrongful termination.
he just did his job the way it is supposed to be done. you need to calm down.
+2 Like I posted before, Engstrom has followed the book. University lawyers/advisors have told him just that. If the "reasons" are to become public, it's on O'Day and Pflu to make them so... at their own risk. Let's see where Cliff and Milt go with this first.AllWeatherFan said:Let me see if I can help you out.
Engstrom fired Pflugrad and O'Day because he did not feel like they exercised sufficient leadership in dealing with the problems that plagued the football program.
That's it. Right or wrong, that's the explanation.
Why didn't Engstrom make a detailed public explanation? Because he had just fired these two gentlemen, and did not want to rub salt into the wound. He knew a detailed explanation of what he perceived as their leadership deficit would reflect badly on them, and he wanted to let them save face. That's why.
Engstrom's "leadership" example was to go out of his way to warn a violent, serial offender well in advance, so there was plenty of time to buy a plane ticket; then he tried to justify it as the "right thing to do." As that s*** hit the fan over that, he tried to distract from the fiasco by his other "leadership example" by sending a nasty letter to the Forestry Dean about the Forester's Ball where nothing had happened. What we are not reading is that he is meeting with staff and taking proactive measures. He's not doing what good managers do. He's doing stupid things, getting bad PR, and he lashes back by firing off incoherent letters to a Dean that he can release to the Missoulian, and when that doesn't work, goes off firing good people to divert attention. These are all PR moves to save his bacon; instead of creating a team atmosphere to solve the problems, he's tearing his staff and the campus community apart by these clearly calculated PR moves designed to cover his own serious gaffes.
Over-reacting to cover his butt overemphasizes the problems; it creates huge problems for the UM that are in many ways undeserved. But that's a calculated strategy.
Engstrom is part of the "leadership" and he has been coming apart at the seams over the Saudi (and related) problems that had nothing to do with athletics. Acknowledged serious, violent serial rape crimes were in fact likely committed and Engstrom not only kept the silence, he protected the offender and practically bought the guy a plane ticket to AVOID "solving the problem." That was on his watch. He even publicly patted himself on the back.
In contrast, questionable allegations are raised, none proved, regarding non-university activities in people's private lives and suddenly he's the Big Man to make good people walk the plank, while a genuine criminal who viciously assaulted and raped UM students is having a good time walking around as a free man back on the streets of Riyadh, courtesy of Royce Engstrom.
There is a complete lack of moral compass in that man. It is not "leadership."
